Give it up for Union City's Senior Queen, Sara Richey, who represented us well in the State Line Heritage Days parade earlier today. 👏👏👏

Sara was crowned in April during Union City's 175th Birthday Celebration. Her sponsor was the Elks Lodge.

What a wonderful parade on Saturday afternoon in celebration of our 175th Birthday! 🥳

We sincerely appreciate everyone who participated, helped behind the scenes, or came to watch! 😎

Our 1999 Senior Queen, Melissa Adelsperger, & 2024 Senior Queen, Sara Richey, as well as 2024 1st Runner-up, Marion Armstrong, 2nd Runner-up, Pam Pratt, & candidates Anita Amspaugh, & Betsy Jefferis, represented Union City very well in the parade. 👸👸🏼

Thanks to Aaron Black, RESC Superintendent, for allowing the parade to line up at the school; Union City Emergency Services for leading the parade; & Union City Stateliners for transporting Mayors Spence & Pouder. 👏👏👏

Special thanks to Jim Dubeansky for his help with contacting several parade participants, & along with his crew, Diana Dubeansky, Tyler Dubeansky, & Chad Enicks, for manning the registration table & organizing the line-up on the day of the parade! Great job! 👍🏻👍🏻

First Friday at the Arts Depot was a wonderful evening, complete with food, fun & fellowship! Certainly a great way to kick off our 175th Birthday Celebration!

Guests enjoyed delicious cupcakes, baked by Darlene Hunt & Jennifer Whitesel, & a variety of light snacks provided by our Team of Ambassadors.

Tom Cox, of Wi******er, entertained us with soothing saxophone music, while everyone enjoyed looking at the amazing art exhibit & visiting with friends. Some hunted for the commemorative Smilerocks & others had fun having their picture taken at the photo board.

It was a great turnout, & guests included Mayor Chad Spence & his wife, Gina; Mayor Duane Pouder; City Manager, Steve Shoemaker, & his wife, Rosie; 2024 Senior Queen, Sara Richey; 1st Runner-up, Marion Armstrong; 2nd Runner-up, Pam Pratt; Queen Contestants, Betsy Jefferis & Anita Amspaugh; & several attendees from out-of-town.

Special thanks to Team Member & Art Association of Randolph County Director, Pam Fraizer, for graciously allowing us to host this event at the historic depot.

Today's Eclipse Viewing at Artisan Park was the Grand Finale of Union City's 175th Birthday Celebration! And it was truly amazing!!!

We shared our small park with such awesome people, from all over the world! It was so much fun talking with everyone & hearing how they chose Union City as their destination for this historic event! And the weather was absolutely perfect!! 🌞🌑

The crowd screamed & clapped when the totality came & screamed & clapped again when the Sun returned! Everyone was so in to it! 👏👏👏

This list isn't complete, but it gives you an idea of how far people travelled!

Our map was pinned & posters signed by guests from: Washington, Oregon, California, Arizona, Texas, Colorado, North Dakota, Minnesota, Illinois, Wisconsin, Michigan, Kentucky, Tennessee, Louisiana, Georgia, Florida, South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Connecticut, New York, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Italy, Greece, Central America, Mexico, Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands, England &, of course, all over Indiana & Ohio.

Our celebration may be over, but we have lots more to share, including photos from First Friday, the parade, entertainment, tours & other activities & of course, the Community Photo & pictures from the Eclipse Viewing, taken by Alec Spence via drone.

We also want to share more history of Union City, including some area churches that have been in existence for over 100 years & memorabilia that people have shared with us. So please stayed tuned!

In the meantime, we'd like to say, THANK YOU, to everyone who took part in our celebration in any way! Happy Birthday, Union City, & Happy Eclipse Day, everyone! 🥳😎
