၂၀၂၆ ဆန်ဖရန်စစ္စကို မဟာအတာသင်္ကြန်
နွေအရောက်မှာ တောက်ကြွားတဲ့ ရွှေအိုရောင် ပိတောက် တွေအလား တစ်နှစ်မှတစ်ခါသာ ကျင်းပလေ့ရှိသော San Francisco Bay Area ၏ မြန်မာကွန်မြူနီတီ သင်္ကြန်ပွဲတော်ကြီးသည်လည်း ၂၀၂၆ ခုနှစ် မေလ ၂၄ ရက်နေ့က Hayward ရှိ Tennyson High School ၌ အောင်မြင်ပျော်ရွှင်စွာ ကျင်းပ၍ ပြီးစီးခဲ့ပြန်ပါလေပြီ။ နေရာအသစ်မှာစမ်း၍ စကျင်းပသောနှစ်မို့ အခက်အခဲတွေ တပုံတပင်ကြားမှ စီစဥ်သူများမှာ မအိပ်မနေ အားခဲလို့ ကြိုးစားခဲ့ကြရပါတယ်။
တစ်နှစ်တစ်ခေါက် ဆန်ဖရန်ကို အရောက်တက်လာကြပြီး အမြဲကူညီပေးတတ်ကြသော MC Adrian Zaw တို့အဖွဲ့ကလည်း ဒီနှစ်မှာတော့ ဇွန်ဝသန်ဦးအပြင် မင်းသွေးမြတ်၊ ထွန်းဝီရ စသည့် မျိုးဆက်သစ် အနုပညာရှင်လေးများဖြင့်ပါ အားဖြည့်၍ ယမန်နှစ် Miss Thingyan ပြိုင်ပွဲဝင် ဖူးမြတ်သီရိမွန် နှင့် တွဲဖက်ကာ အခမ်းအနားမှူး များအဖြစ် မြူးမြူးကြွကြွ တာဝန် ကျေခဲ့ကြပြန်ပါလေပြီ။
ကျောင်းသူကျောင်းသား Volunteer လေးများကလည်း အမြဲတက်ကြွစွာ ချွေးတလုံးလုံးဖြင့် ကူညီပါဝင်နေခဲ့သော မြင်ကွင်းကလည်း မြင်သူအပေါင်းတို့အတွက် စိတ်အားတက်ကြွဖွယ်ရာ။ ကလေးငယ်များနှင့် လူငယ်လူရွယ်များကလည်း သင်္ကြန်ဆိုသည်နှင့် အချိန်မဆွဲဘဲ ကွင်းလယ်က အုန်းလက် ရေကစားမဏ္ဍာပ်မှာ ပျော်ပျော်ပါးပါး ရေကစားနှင့်ပေကြတော့ရာ မြင်သူ့နှလုံးအိမ်ထဲမှာ အကြည်ဓါတ်တို့ကူးစက်သွားပေတော့သည်။
မခင်သက်ဦး၊ ထေရဝါဒ ဓမ္မအသင်း နှင့် မြန်မာ ဆရာဝန်များအသင်းတို့ တို့ဦးဆောင်သော အစဥ်အလာမပျက် သက်ကြီးပူဇော်ပွဲကလည်း အပူဇော်ခံ ဘိုးဘွား ၉၅ ဦးဆိုတော့ မနှစ်ကစံချိန် ၈၀ ကျော်ကို အသာလေးရိုက်ချိုးသွားခဲ့ပြန်ပါသည်။ နောင်နှစ်ဆို ဘိုးဘွား ၁၀၀ ကျော်မည်လားမသိ။ မြန်မာ့အစဥ်အလာမို့ ကြည်နူးစရာပါပေ။
ပထမဆုံးအနေဖြင့် သိကြားမင်းကြီးမှ ပွဲစျေးပတ်လျှောက်၍ သင်္ကြန်ခေါ်ပေးပြီးနောက် မန်းတောင်ရိပ်ခို ဖြင့် စုပေါင်းကပြကြကာ ဖွင့်ပွဲစခဲ့ကြသည်။ Daly City Mayor Glenn Sylvester, Contra Costa County, Alameda County နှင့် San Mateo County မှ District Supervisor များဖြစ်ကြသော John Gioia, David Haubert, David Canepa နှင့် Juslyn Manalo, Union City Council Member Jeff Wang, APA Heritage Committee မှ Rose Chung နှင့် Miss Asian Anerican Foundation မှ Ethel Reddy စသည့် ဖိတ်ကြားထားသော ဧည့်သည်တော်များမှ ဖွင့်ပွဲအခမ်းအနားသို့ တက်ရောက်ကာ ဂုဏ်ပြုအမှာစကားများ ပြောကြားပေးခဲ့ကြပါသည်။ နောက်တော့ စောင်း၊ တယောနှင့် ခြောက်လုံးပတ်ဒိုးတို့ သံပြိုင်တီးခတ်ထားသည့် မြူမှောင်ဝေကင်း၊ ပြီးတော့ အရွယ်လေးသွယ် ကကြမယ့်ယိမ်းများနှင့် ထူးထူးခြားခြား မြန်မာ့သားသားလေးများ၏ ဇော်ဂျီယိမ်းအက..။
အပြင်ဘက် ပွဲခင်းထဲမှာတော့ မြန်မာ့အစားအစာအစုံ ကိုစျေးသည် ၅၀ ခန့်ရောင်းချပေးသည့် မုန့်စျေးတန်းကတော့ အစည်ကားဆုံးဖြစ်တော့သည်။ ဒါပေမယ့် မနက်ကတည်းက လူထောင်ကျော် လာရောက်အားပေးကြသည်မို့ နေ့လည် ၂ နာရီလောက်ကတည်းက စျေးသည်တဝက်လောက်က ရောင်းကုန်နေပေတော့သည်။ Finance and Ticket booth မှာတာဝန်ကျသူတွေကတော့ တနေကုန် မနေမနား စျေးဝယ်လက်မှတ်လေးများ၊ ရေ နှင့် အခြားအသုံးအဆောင်များကို စီစဥ်ရောင်းချရင်း တနေကုန်ဘာမှမစားရဘဲ ပီတိကိုသာစားလို့ အားရှိနေကြတော့၏။
မြန်မာဆရာဝန်များအသင်း(USBMA) ကလည်း ပွဲလာပရိသတ်အတွက် ကျန်းမာရေးစောင့်ရှောက်မှုတွေ ပေးနေပေတော့သည်။ နတ်မိဖုရားရဲ့ ထူးထူးခြားခြား Tarot ဗေဒင်ခန်းကလည်း ပါသေးသည်။ အဟောမှန်သူတွေကတော့ နောက်နှစ်သင်္ကြန်မှာမေးဖို့အတွက် တစ်နှစ်ကြိုစာရင်းပေးထားကြပြီတဲ့။
Entertainment ပိုင်းမှာလည်း ဝင်းနိုင်စိုး၊ လင်းထက်၊ Mark Jason စသည့် နိုင်ငံကျော်အဆိုတော်များအပြင် နယ်ခံ အဆိုကျော်များနှင့် Sacramento စသည့် အနယ်နယ်အရပ်ရပ် နှင့် ကျောင်းပေါင်းစုံမှ မှ လာရောက် ပူးပေါင်းအားဖြည့် ဖျော်ဖြေမှုများကြောင့် program ပြီးဆုံးသည့် ညနေ ၆ နာရီတိုင်အောင် တနေကုန်ထိုင်ကာ အားပေးသည့် ပရိသတ်တို့၏ ဇွဲက အံ့ချီးဖွယ်ကောင်းလွန်းလှပေတော့သည်။

ဖျော်ဖြေသူများ အင်အားကောင်းလှသမို့ Indoor ရော၊ Outdoorရော နှစ်ခုခွဲ၍ တပြိုင်နက် ဖျော်ဖြေမှုပေးခဲ့သည့်ပွဲကတော့ ဒီသင်္ကြန်မှာပဲ ရှိလိမ့်မည်လား မပြောတတ်။ အထဲ အပြင် ပရိသတ်အကုန်ကို ထူးထူးခြားခြား ဖျော်ဖြေမှုပေးနိုင်ခဲ့ကြသည်မို့ကျေနပ်စရာပါ။ ဒါ့အပြင် လာရောက်ကြသည့် ဧည့်ပရိသတ်စိတ်ကြိုက် လိမ်းခြယ်နိုင်သည့် မြန်မာ့ရိုးရာ သနပ်ခါး မဏ္ဍာပ်ကလည်း လူစည်ကားလှသည်။ သန်ခါးလိမ်းခြယ်ပြီး လို့ facebookတင်ထားရုံနဲ့ အလှဆုံး၊ လူကြိုက်အများဆုံး ပုံများကို OMC ရဲ့ သင်္ကြန်ကျေးဇူးတုံ့ပြန်ပွဲမှာ ဆုတွေချီးမြှင့်ပေးပါဦးမည်တဲ့။
နှစ်စဥ်ကျင်းပမြဲ ကြော့ရှင်းယဥ်သွယ် သင်္ကြန်အလှမယ် ပြိုင်ပွဲကတော့ ပထမပိုင်းမှာ Catwalk နှင့် အမေးအဖြေ ပြုလုပ်ပြီး ဒုတိယပိုင်းမှာတော့အဆိုတော် ဝင်းနိုင်စိုးရဲ့ Hit Song 'ဗာရာဏသီ' သီချင်းကို Live ဆိုကာ အလှမယ်လေးများမှ Group Talent Dance အဖြစ်ပါဝင်ယှဥ်ပြိုင်ကပြဖျော်ဖြေပေးသွားခဲ့ကြပါသည်။ ထို့နောက်တော့ ဒိုင်အဖြစ် ပါဝင်ကူညီပေးသွားခဲ့ကြသည့် Miss Asean 2005 Miss Talent Winner အိရူပါဝင်း၊ Miss Asian American Foundation president Ethel Reddy, Vivian, အဆိုတော် လင်းထက် နှင့် အဆိုတော် Mark Jason တို့ပါဝင်သော အမှတ်ပေးဒိုင် ၅ ဦး၏ အမှတ်များဖြင့် Miss Photogenic Winner အဖြစ် ဖြူစင်မိုးမြင့်၊ Miss Talent Winner အဖြစ် Natalie Tha၊ Miss Popular Winner အဖြစ် (ဧည့်ပရိသတ်တို့၏ Popular vote များဖြင့်) May Jewel Lin၊ Miss Thingyan 1st Runner-up ဒုတိယ Winner ဆု သရဖူကို Irene Aung နှင့် Miss Thingyan Winner Crown ကို Samantha Chan တို့က ထိုက်ထိုက်တန်တန် ဆွတ်ခူးသွားခဲ့ကြပါသည်။
အမေရိကန်နိုင်ငံ West Coast ၏ တစ်နှစ်တာ နောက်ဆုံးသင်္ကြန်ပွဲကြီးဟု ဆိုထားသည့်အတိုင်း ပထမဆုံးအကြိမ်တင်ဆက်သော ထူးခြားအစီအစဥ် အများအပြားဖြင့် ၂၀၂၆ San Francisco သင်္ကြန်ပွဲကြီးကား ကြေညာထားသည့်အတိုင်း ပရိသတ်တို့၏ အားပေးမှုဖြင့် ညနေစောင်းမှ ပိတ်ပွဲအခမ်းအနားကို ပျော်ပျော်ရွှင်ရွှင် ကျင်းပကာ အားလုံး ဝိုင်းဝန်းသိမ်းဆည်း၍ တချို့လည်း မပြန်ချင့် ပြန်ချင် မိုးချုပ်သည် အထိနှုတ်ဆက်စကားများပြောကာ တစ်နှစ်တာ အောင်မြင်စွာ ပြီးဆုံးရုတ်သိမ်းခဲ့ကြပေတော့သည်..။

2026 San Francisco Maha Atar Thingyan
Like the golden Padauk flowers that bloom brilliantly only in summer, the Myanmar community’s annual Thingyan Festival in the San Francisco Bay Area was once again successfully and joyfully celebrated on May 24, 2026, at Tennyson High School in Hayward, California. Since this was the very first year the festival was held at a new venue, the organizers faced countless challenges, yet they worked tirelessly day and night with unwavering dedication to make the event a success.
As always, the MC team led by Adrian Zaw — who faithfully travels to San Francisco every year to support the event — returned once again. This year, they were joined not only by Zun Wathan Oo, but also by rising young artists such as Min Thway Myat and Htun Wira. Together with last year’s Miss Thingyan contestant Phoo Myat Thiri Mon, they energetically fulfilled their roles as masters of ceremony throughout the celebration.
The sight of student volunteers enthusiastically helping out under the hot sun, drenched in sweat yet full of smiles and energy, was truly inspiring to everyone present. Children and young people wasted no time heading straight to the coconut-leaf water pavilions in the center of the grounds, happily splashing water and celebrating together. Their laughter and excitement spread joyful energy throughout the festival.
The annual elder honoring ceremony, traditionally organized by Ma Khin Thet Oo, the Theravada Dhamma Society (TDS) and USBMA also broke records this year. A total of 95 elders were honored, surpassing last year’s record of over 80 participants. Perhaps next year there may even be more than 100 elders attending. It was a heartwarming reflection of Myanmar’s cherished traditions.
The opening ceremony began with “Thagyar Min” together with Thagyar Queen, making a grand round through the festival grounds, officially announcing the arrival of Thingyan. This was followed by a group performance of “Mann Taung Yeik Kho,” then musical performances featuring harp, violin, and the traditional six-drum ensemble in “Myu Hmaung Way Kin.” Special guests such as Daly City Mayor, District Supervisors, Union City Council Member and APA Heritage Committee attended the Opening cerdmony and each gave a brief Congratulatory speech. Audiences were further delighted by graceful traditional dance performances and the uniquely entertaining “Zawgyi” dance performed by young Myanmar boys.
Outside the venue, the food fair quickly became the busiest attraction, with around 50 vendors selling a wide variety of Myanmar traditional foods. However, because more than a thousand people had already arrived since the morning, nearly half of the vendors had sold out by around 2 PM. Finance and Tickets booth was so busy the whole day, selling food tickets, water and other accesdories to the crowd, they even forgot to eat delicious food for themselves. United States Burma Medical Association (USBMA) also participated in the event in many ways, especially taking care of the health of the audience. There was also a Tarot card reading table by the Thagyar Queen!
The entertainment lineup was equally impressive. Famous singers such as Win Naing Soe, Lin Htet, and Mark Jason performed alongside popular local singers and guest performers from Sacramento and various schools and communities. Because of the nonstop performances, audiences remained seated and enthusiastically supportive all the way until the program concluded at 6 PM — a truly remarkable display of dedication from the crowd.
This year’s sound system was also especially notable, marking the very first collaboration of three of the Bay Area’s most respected sound engineers. In addition to performances by the famous “Pyaw Hma Thi, Hti Hma Na” Than Gyat troupe, the audience was especially excited by the debut appearance of actress Aye Aye Khine together with comedians Khine Gyi, Kyaw Gyi, Nay Lin, and Phyo Par Lay as part of the One Myanmar Shwe Thingyan Anyeint troupe.
With such a strong lineup of performers, the festival featured simultaneous indoor and outdoor performances — something rarely seen at Thingyan festivals. Audiences both inside and outside the venue were treated to nonstop entertainment throughout the day. Another especially popular attraction was the traditional Thanaka pavilion, where guests could freely apply Myanmar’s beloved natural cosmetic paste. Festival attendees who posted their Thanaka photos on Facebook with the hashtag were also promised prizes for the most beautiful and most popular photos during OMC’s upcoming appreciation event.
The annual Miss Thingyan beauty pageant once again brought elegance and excitement to the festival. In the first round, contestants participated in catwalk and Q&A sessions. In the second round, the contestants performed a group talent dance to singer Win Naing Soe’s live performance of his hit song “Varanasi.”
The judging panel consisted of Miss ASEAN 2005 Miss Talent winner Ei Yupar Win, Miss Asian American Foundation President Ethel Reddy, Vivian, singer Lin Htet, and singer Mark Jason. Based on their scores, the following titles were awarded:

As the final and largest Thingyan festival of the year on the U.S. West Coast, the 2026 San Francisco Thingyan Festival successfully delivered many first-time special programs and unforgettable experiences. As promised, the celebration concluded joyfully in the evening with enthusiastic support from the audience. Everyone stayed together helping clean up, while many lingered long after sunset exchanging farewells, reluctant to leave as another successful year of Thingyan came to an end.

Fortunately, the following day was Memorial Day, allowing most people time to rest and recharge in preparation for next year’s celebration.
