At SPARC ~ Alexandria, yesterday was a beautiful reminder of what community is all about.
We spent the morning learning about Juneteenth and reflecting on the long journey toward freedom, inclusion, and opportunity. As we explored this important chapter in American history, we talked about how every person deserves the chance to participate, contribute, and belong.
That theme carried through the rest of our day. We celebrated Kyleigh's 22nd birthday with pizza, cake, laughter, and the kind of joy that comes from being surrounded by friends who genuinely care. Birthdays at SPARC are more than parties—they're celebrations of each person's unique place in our community.
Later, our team came together to continue building our Regatta boat. What looks like cardboard, tape, and measurements is really something much bigger: collaboration, problem-solving, creativity, and teamwork. Everyone contributes in their own way—sharing ideas, gathering supplies, cutting, taping, designing, and encouraging one another. Every role matters.
From learning about freedom and inclusion, to celebrating a friend, to building something together, today was a powerful example of what SPARC strives to create every day: a community where every person is valued, connected, and empowered to be part of something meaningful.
