Behind every successful student is a teacher who goes above and beyond to make sure their students have what they need to learn, grow, and succeed. Often, that means teachers reach into their own pockets to provide the little extras that make a BIG difference in the classroom.
The Ghost Buster Give-athon is an opportunity for parents and community members to give back to the educators who give so much to our children every day.
Where does your donation go? It goes directly towards the teacher of your choice to help create a positive, supportive, and engaging learning environment for their students. Donations may help provide:
● Breakfast for hungry students: Breakfast items teachers keep on hand for children who arrive at school without having eaten.
● Classroom supplies and learning activities: Additional materials for educational projects, hands-on lessons, classroom games, and group activities that make learning fun and memorable.
● Motivation and encouragement: Small prizes, rewards, and incentives that recognize students’ efforts, celebrate achievements, and encourage them to keep trying.
● Everyday comfort items: Peppermints, cough drops, and other small comforts for children who may not be feeling their best but are still at school trying to learn.
● Holiday parties and classroom celebrations: When parent participation and donated supplies are limited, funds can help cover food, decorations, and other necessities so students can enjoy special moments with their classmates.
These items may seem small, but the impact can be huge. A child who starts the day hungry may struggle to concentrate. A hands-on activity can turn a difficult lesson into an exciting discovery. A small reward can motivate a student who needs encouragement. And a classroom celebration can help a child feel included, connected, and valued.
Teachers do so much more than deliver lessons. They notice when a child needs extra help, find creative ways to make learning meaningful, and often provide resources and encouragement that go far beyond their job descriptions.
Every dollar adds up. You do not have to make a large donation to make a meaningful difference. Your $1 contribution can help provide the supplies, experiences, and extra support that positively impact a child’s school day and overall performance.
