We’re feeling so grateful after an incredible Color Draw Party!

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who came out to pull their color and everyone who said “yes” to participating in Hue & You.

The exhibit opens later this year at the Johnson Center for the Arts. We have approx 6 months to create a work of art that is 50% or more of the color swatch. Stay tuned!

CALL FOR ARTISTS

The Johnson Center for the Arts is now accepting submissions for Alabama the Beautiful: 250 Years, a juried exhibition commemorating the 250th anniversary of the United States.

We’re inviting Alabama artists to reflect on home, place, and personal patriotism—from front porch sunsets and winding country roads to family stories, quiet traditions, and symbols of resilience.

Submission Deadline: March 2
Exhibition Dates: March 30 – July 4
Johnson Center for the Arts | Troy, AL

Artists working in all mediums are encouraged to apply. Let’s celebrate the beauty of Alabama.

B26: Wiregrass Biennial Submissions Are Still Open!

This is a juried exhibition for artists living and working in the South, ages 18 and up. Eligible states include Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, and West Virginia.

Exhibition dates:
July 18- September 19, 2026

We are looking for work created within the last three years. Original work only.
What stands out:
• Bold ideas.
• Strong voices.
• Diverse media.
• Large scale work.
• Installations.
• New media.
• Performance based work tied to the opening.

This exhibition values artists who take risks and push form, material, and message. If your work challenges, questions, or expands how art is experienced, this call is for you.
