After spending 37 years in education as a special education teacher and reading specialist, Theresa could have chosen a well-earned retirement. Twelve years ago, Ron met Logan in our School-Based mentoring program. What started with lunch visits at school grew into a friendship that lasted through elementary school, middle school, high school, and now graduation.

Over the years, they shared countless hikes, fishing trips, horseback rides, woodworking projects, backyard cookouts, and breakfast conversations. Through personal hardships, life changes, and all the milestones in between, Ron kept showing up.

Now Logan has joined the ranks of our graduating Littles, and one of the people cheering him on from the stands was Ron.

Stories like this remind us that mentorship isn't just about a single moment, but, rather, about being a steady presence through the years.

Congratulations to you, Logan! And thank you, Ron, for showing what it means to be a Big.

When we launched last month's "30 Bigs in 30 Days" campaign, we asked our community to step up for local kids who need a mentor. Well, because of you, THIRTY-ONE new Bigs have raised their hands to show up and change a child's life.

Seven years ago, Big Brother Steve and Little Brother Asher were matched. Since then, they've shared countless outings, conversations, and experiences together, building a friendship that has grown stronger with each passing year.

Recently, the pair spent time volunteering at Safe Harbor of Grand Traverse. Steve worked the grill while Asher rolled up his sleeves and tackled a mountain of dishes. Like so many of their outings over the years, they worked side by side, helping where help was needed and giving back to their community.

Over those seven years, Steve has watched Asher grow in more ways than one. Just last year, Asher stood 5'8". Today, he's 6'3" and still growing. But Steve is even more proud of the person Asher is becoming: kind, dependable, and always willing to lend a hand.

Steve often says he gets more out of being a Big Brother than he puts in. Watching Asher quietly work, volunteer, and show up for others, it's easy to understand why.

Seven years. Seven inches. A lifetime of moments that neither of them will ever forget.
