The park supervisors are trained and ready to go! Thanks Penn Township Ambulance Association and Penn Township Recreation! The summer program starts this Monday at our Fairmont and Woodlawn Parks for registered children!

Congratulations to Will Weishaar, 14 from Harrison City who caught this 40+ inch grass carp at B.Y. Park, Trafford,Pa today!!

We had the pleasure of watching him expertly fight this fish for 15 minutes, and with help from his friend, finally netted it! I bet he’ll feel it tomorrow!

Grass carp were introduced into the pond in 1995 by the Mud Puppies (the kind volunteers that painstakingly rebuilt the park) to control the weeds and algae. This one was about 12-15 years old and easily 30lbs! Glad to see they’re still there!

PLEASE - if you are fishing at our beautiful B.Y. Park, Trafford,Pa, pick up your used fishing line. Things like this keep happening and it’s hurting wildlife, like this baby goose on Sunday.

We had a great time participating and showing off our new banners (credit to Kerri Contillo on the beautiful design!) in the Memorial Day parade! Thank you to Rose, Carly and all the other volunteers for making it happen. Thanks to the community for coming out. For such a somber day, it’s a beautiful thing to see the town come together like this.
