3-31-26—-Thank you to all the generous volunteers who help keep this outreach moving. We estimate we have 25-30 volunteers total. It’s 6-7 a week every week—- 5 at the school packing bags and 2 at the pantry—serving others. And many others such as, the office folks at school, volunteers ordering food, picking up food, unloading food at the school and the pantry. Turning on the heat in the pantry, shoveling snow, scattering salt, taking inventory and cleaning up.

And if you have ever donated food, treasure or time to this outreach… we know, you too are “Bringing His Food and His Presence” to your neighbor.

Update March 31 2026- Happy Easter Everyone! ✝️. We have been packing weekend food bags for 95 kids at our beloved Maplewood Elementary school all year, every Friday. We can do this because of the compassion and generosity of people in our communities. ❤️. Our free food pantry is located beside New Richmond United Methodist Church and is open every Wed 4:00 pm-5:30 pm. Everyone welcome. No questions asked. We are ready for Easter.

We are so grateful to all the churches that continue to have food drives for us and all the donations from businesses and individuals. Because of your acts of kindness, we are making the difference by closing the hunger gap that exists for so many kids, families and friends in our wonderful community.
A little child at school saw us packing bags recently, and he told us “this food is God-given”.

Update Tues, Dec 16,2025 - Merry Christmas Everyone🎄. The food drives that you all have done for this outreach and our beloved community are so generous and make a huge difference to our: 97 kids that get weekend food bags at the school every Friday, 58 kindergartners that get a snack everyday, and the weekly food pantry at New Richmond Grange building.

We are the only rural food pantry in 15 miles. !We never ask questions—- just show up and we’ll give you a paper bag you can fill up.

The pantry is open today 4-5:30. Next week we will Be Open On TUESDAY Dec 23 at 4-5:30 INSTEAD OF WED the 24th!!

Nov 10 2025 Update - 🌟❤️ Amazing! Thank you for bringing food from your kitchens to other people's kitchens! The huge outpouring of compassion and generosity from so many is awesome. We see it making a difference to senior citizens, single parents, and 97 children at our beautiful Maplewood Elem School. We are an all-volunteer hunger outreach. You are faithfully supporting the only rural food pantry in our community, which is open every Wednesday, and no questions are ever asked. Thanksgiving is coming and we will have turkeys again! And 97 kids get a bag of six non-perishable food items every Friday at school—- ❤️more at Thanksgiving break! —- And we pay for Kindergarten snacks for 58 kids every day at school. Your continued donations and your volunteering have closed the hunger gap for so many many of our neighbors. 😇

Update Oct 16 2025 Food For Thought - 😇 Thank You, Thank You…..What A Night ! for Compassion in Action last Friday Oct 10 at the Maplewood vs Cambridge football game! The two communities donated a total of $637.00 in cash AND approximately $2,000 in non perishable food items !

This will close the weekend hunger gap for 95 kids and their families. This outreach is starting its 7th year and our schools, businesses, churches and individuals are the heart and soul of our communities.

Thank You Cambridge Springs and 🎉❤️Maplewood communities for your kindness, generosity and support. All donations go to continue the food pantry at New Richmond and the weekend food bags we distribute every Friday to our beloved Maplewood Elementary students. All free and no questions asked. ❤️😊

We are an all volunteer outreach. Two at the pantry and 4-6 at the school every week.

Food For Thought Update Oct 1 2025 - ❤️This is for our Kids! This Fri Oct 10 we will be at our awesome Maplewood-Cambridge Football game AT Maplewood - Go Tigers- accepting non- perishable food donations. REC is paying for your tickets to get into the game. We will be there with Pastor Harry’s truck, totes and a big sign so you will see us. We are packing 95 bags every week for our beloved Maplewood Elementary kids.😎Suggested Donations: pudding cups, fruit n grain boxes, applesauce cups, ramen noodles, peanut butter crackers, jello cups, toaster tart boxes, macaroni n cheese, chicken noodle soup, cinnamon graham crackers and animal crackers. Every week 4-5 volunteers pack there bags with 6 non- perishable food items. As listed above.
Your donations do make the difference to close the week end hunger gap that exists in for our kids and families. We are beginning our 7 th yr and Thank you for your donations and continued support. 😇.

Update Aug 27 2025 - 😎 The first day of school! All of us in the Food For Thought hunger outreach are very grateful we are returning to giving away weekend food bags to children at our beloved Maplewood 🐅 Elementary School.
We started this compassionate-active outreach in September 2018…..Because the community sees the need and cares about feeding children and our families. It makes all the difference to the 90 plus children we served last year! Many thanks to all the donors for your extravagant generosity and faithful support.

A sign up sheet will go home with the children to sign up soon. It’s free and no questions asked. We look forward to 2025-2026.

Update July 29 2025. ❤️We are open every wed from 4 to 5:30. It’s our free rural food pantry by New Richmond United Methodist Church. No questions asked. 1 paper bag of food that you choose the food.

🥘 We are in need of cereal, peanut butter, jelly, soup, jello, pudding, saltine crackers, canned fruit, canned tuna, canned chicken. No black beans, please. This is our 5th year with our free food pantry.

Update April 19 2025— We are packing weekend food bags for 91 kids at our awesome Maplewood Elementary every Thursday. Thats 91 kids who are not hungry all weekend😇. If your child needs food, call the school and they will add your name to our list! We’d love to help you.

And we are serving an average of 18 people a week at our free rural food pantry at New Richmond. We gave away 18 hams last week for Easter.

Thanks to our 5 volunteers who pack at the school and the 12 volunteers every week in our pantry. Thanks for taking a turn and signing up. The generosity in our community churches, businesses and individuals is making a big difference in our community. Much Appreciation to all for the donations of time, talent and gifts.
