What a FANTASTIC DAY (7-18-2026) dedicating the Missouri River Paddlers Trail 43. Broadwater County Trails Team had a great turn out of paddlers and guest speakers from Bureau of Land Management, Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks, Jefferson River Canoe Trail Representative and Congressional Field Staff. Ending with a ribbon cutting and a 6 mile float to the Toston Bridge. Thank you to everyone that joined us in celebrating Broadwater County’s Missouri River Paddler Trail 43.

BCDC Trails Committee aka BCT is excited to share that we are one of 750 grantees selected to receive 2026 AARP Community Challenge grant from Livable Communities and Montana.

We are eager to begin this quick action grant by conducting walk audits that identify conditions that make walking less safe-such as uneven or missing sidewalks, unsafe crosswalks and other accessibility barriers along routes that connect residents to parks, services, and community destinations.

This project supports and strengthens the Countywide Trails Vision Plan and the County Recreation Plan. Findings will help local leaders prioritize safer, more connected walking routes, reduce fall risks and expand access to recreation and local businesses, while positioning the community for future grant opportunities.
