LifePointe Family,
Last week, Scott Kline informed us that he will be stepping down as the Children’s Director at LifePointe this August and returning to teaching in the classroom in the WJCC school system. Though we were obviously disappointed to receive this news, as Scott shared the motivation behind this decision, we could not help but be excited for Scott and Kay Dee, and for this next season in their family's life.
Scott and Kay Dee’s oldest (Nolan) will be getting married next year, their middle child (Ryan) will be playing collegiate football this fall, and their youngest (Becca) will be a rising junior in high school and the family’s newest driver. Scott shared that teaching provides a schedule and structure that is better suited for their family in this next season.
For those who may not know, Scott and Kay Dee began attending LifePointe in April of 2008. At that time, they had only one child (Nolan) but would soon welcome Ryan and Becca. Early on, Scott and Kay Dee became highly involved at LifePointe, serving as small group leaders, KidPointe volunteers, and much more. At one point, Scott even served as an elder at LifePointe.
Under Scott’s leadership, our children’s ministry grew from a few dozen kids on Sunday mornings to more than 200 every Sunday. Scott and his team helped to create a first-class children’s ministry program that was safe, inviting for all kids, and (most importantly) taught them about the love of Jesus.
Needless to say, his leadership, influence, and presence will be greatly missed.
Since learning of Scott's decision, our leadership team has been working closely with Scott and Jennifer, our associate director, to ensure a smooth transition. We know that many families and volunteers are part of this ministry, and we want to ensure that our KidPointe team has everything they need to continue to minister effectively to our kids. We are grateful for Jennifer and our incredible KidPointe volunteer team, whose dedication and leadership will provide continuity throughout this transition.
Our leadership team has already begun developing the strategic plan to help us maintain excellence in KidPointe as we launch a search for our next KidPointe Director. This search will be both local and national in scope. In addition, we have committed to hiring additional temporary staff to support KidPointe during this search, ensuring this ministry has everything it needs to continue to thrive.
In the meantime, we invite you to join us in praying for the Kline family and for LifePointe. Over the coming months, we look forward to celebrating Scott and thanking him for his years of faithful ministry and leadership.
Please pray for the Klines as they prepare for this next chapter, and pray for our families, volunteers, Jennifer, and our leadership team as we move forward with confidence and anticipation for what God has in store for LifePointe.
Together We Thrive,
LifePointe Leadership Team
