🎶 Join us for a special Sunday at Mt. Vernon UMC! 🎶

This Sunday, October 18, we’ll welcome Linda Poinsett, our new Choir Director, and Mary Sowder, our new accompanist! We’re grateful they’ve felt God’s call to share their gifts and ministry with us, and we’re excited for this new chapter in our music ministry.

A special thank-you to Lila O'Sullivan for faithfully serving as our guest accompanist during this season of transition, and to chair Theresa Kaufman and our SPPRC team for their prayerful work throughout the search.

We’ll also recognize the Crump family for their many years of caring for the James City Chapel Cemetery—and celebrate with cake at our Third Sunday Fellowship! 🎂

Come join the celebration. We’d love to see you Sunday!

This Sunday, October 11, we’re delighted to welcome Rev. Nancy Robinson as our guest preacher! Nancy will help us explore the United Methodist global emphasis calling churches everywhere to Love Boldly, Serve Joyfully, and Lead Courageously.
Together, we’ll consider how God is calling our congregation to live out these commitments through the power of the Holy Spirit—and how our faith can help nurture the next generation of United Methodist leaders around the world. This special emphasis also includes an opportunity to support theological education for 500 students each year, preparing future pastors and ministry leaders across Africa, Europe, and the Philippines. You're invited to worship with Mt. Vernon UMC on Sunday at 10:15AM. Hear Nancy’s message and discover how we can be part of God’s work around the world. Link to give in the comments.
