Thank you to Thomas & Kel for opening up Karuna's space!
If you remember, Karuna can no longer eat hay because she can't chew it properly and has to only eat soaked pellets now. So she can't have access to Ahimsa's hay feeding station. Opening up Hondo's old space, he no longer uses gives Karuna even more places to roam!

Thank you Holly & her girl scout troop for sending the goat boyz their mineral block they absolutely love 🐐🐐🐐🐐😋

Also, thank you for the additional scratchers which the pigs, goats, cows and Hondo use and fish nets for cleaning their water tanks of debris 🙏❤️

From Animal Protection Voters
The Farm Bill is still being worked on by Senate Agriculture and could be released any day now. Senator Luján has a powerful voice on that committee. He needs to hear from you today!

The Farm Bill is a massive package of legislation that serves as the primary blueprint for the nation’s food and agriculture policy. The impact the Farm Bill has on the treatment of animals used in agriculture, the safety of the food supply, and protections against diseases spread between animals and humans—amongst many other agricultural issues—cannot be overstated.

Recently, the U.S. House passed a version of the Farm Bill that included the “Save Our Bacon Act”—a gift to large-scale, foreign-owned, industrial factory farms that will eliminate hundreds of state laws and local ordinances protecting animals and people from illness and ill-treatment. This dangerous language was retained in the House’s Farm Bill despite a bipartisan-led effort to amend it out.

No fewer than eleven separate New Mexico laws regulating the treatment of animals raised on farms and ranches in our state are at risk. Across the country, roughly 500 state laws and ordinances will go dark if the “Save Our Bacon Act” is included in the final version of the Farm Bill. The “Save Our Bacon Act” must not be included in the Farm Bill!

Call 202-224-6621 now and let Senator Ben Ray Luján know that New Mexicans do not want the Farm Bill to reverse hard-fought protections gained for animals, people and communities engaged in farming and ranching.

When you call, tell his office: “I’m calling to urge Senator Luján to oppose any version of the Farm Bill that includes the “Save Our Bacon Act” or any similar provisions, and to take action to strip that language out.” Feel free to use the following talking points when making your call:

The “Save Our Bacon Act” would nullify hundreds of state laws and local ordinances that protect animals used in agriculture against cruelty and inhumane treatment.

The “Save Our Bacon Act” doesn’t just gut animal welfare standards—it threatens public health by eliminating regulations meant to identify, track, and prevent diseases from entering the food supply.
The “Save Our Bacon Act” will further consolidate the power of foreign entities over the U.S. agricultural sector, and take power away from voters and New Mexico’s state and local governments to regulate the treatment of animals on farms and ranches in our communities.
Please call today, and thank you for speaking up for New Mexico’s animals and communities.
