UPDATE: THE DOGS HAVE OFFICIALLY BEEN EXTENDED TO TUESDAY 06/16 AT 6:30 AM‼️

SOS‼️ PAST DEADLINE CAN BE EUTHANIZED ANY TIME‼️

We got so many dogs out yesterday that the shelter is recalculating the space they have. The last 4 dogs who were supposed to die this morning are currently STILL ALIVE. We don’t know how much time they have or when they will disappear.

🚨 Jasmine — Sweet middle aged gal who still feels young, loves the water, tested well with male and female dogs off leash but would do best with a less dominant dog, walks well on leash, independent but loving (HAS NEW DOG TESTS FROM LAST NIGHT, CAN SEND ON REQUEST)

🚨 Brutis — Sweet STRONG boy, easily corrected and is a bit of a chicken, loves pets and butt scratches, tested well off leash with a friendly tolerant female but must be managed because he is strong and likes to hump, do not recommend with male dogs at this time, came in pepper sprayed from a dog fight, has a lot of potential and is a sweet sweet boy but needs a strong handler (HAS NEW DOG TESTS FROM LAST NIGHT, CAN SEND ON REQUEST)

🚨 Ashe — HAS A FOSTER OFFER IN LA RESCUE IS NEEDED‼️ great with people and kids, not good with dogs, walks pretty well on leash, very affectionate, nonreactive to dogs when walking through kennels

🚨 Taz — sweet in his kennel, likes training and having someone to give him direction, did well with dogs but may be selective, easily overwhelmed/overstimulated, has redirected on and bit at least 2 handlers, needs an experienced home, will likely need management for the rest of his life, no kids

Charlotte is an 85 pound two year old Rottweiler spayed female. She is a beautiful calm girl. Loves attention and allows all over touch by her handler. She would love to be part of your home and family.

Here is what we know about her at this time from her shelter notes:
“Calm girl, not showing her full personality. Charlotte came up to let me leash her after finding her passed out. She is kind, on the shy side and easy to take back to her kennel. She likes treats and knows how to sit”

🐶Charlotte was off leash with several dogs out on the shelter playground and did well.

Maple is only 2 years old and has done nothing wrong. This gentle Rottweiler mix came into the shelter scared and unsure, but beneath that timid exterior is a sweet, kind soul who wants to trust.

When I spent time with her, Maple was calm and cooperative. She let me gently wipe her infected eyes, accepted affection, and was easy to leash and return to her kennel. She never showed any aggression—just quiet sadness and uncertainty.

Maple also needs surgery to correct a painful eye condition, and now her life is running out of time. She deserves medical care, comfort, and a chance to know what it feels like to be loved.

Please don’t let Maple’s story end at the shelter on Monday. She needs a foster, adopter, or rescue to save her life. 🙏🐾

Natasha is a husky MADE for husky lovers! She has all the sass, all the quirks that make huskies so great!

Natasha is as husky as they come, she’s full of s***k, allows pets all over and seeemed to like the affection. She would sometimes be a little pushy when wanting treats and would jump off of her handler, but she’s a smart active girl, super petite and adorable!

📌 NOTE: Huskies are notorious escape artists, please do not leave her outside unattended.

🐶 Natasha hasn’t been tested with dogs yet, please bring your dog for a meet and greet to see if it’s a match!

🤗🫶Meet Brutis🫶🤗

Brutis is my favorite dogs at the shelter right now! He’s scared and will growl/lunge at someone approaching his kennel but once you earn his trust, he’s a true love bug. While we were outside he tried really hard to lay on my lap, unfortunately we had a size incompatibility 😂 Brutis should thrive with a confident and patient handler, he has so much potential to be an amazing dog for someone. If you watch through the videos you can see him go from fearful to love bug and it was such a great feeling to earn his trust today

At this time I’m recommending he go to a home without kids. He is big and scared and that can be a dangerous combination. He existed nicely near my young daughter but I did keep a barrier between them. He did show a very calm interest in her and its likely he’ll do well with kids after training and he’s gained some general confidence.

✏️ Shelter notes: Brought in pepper sprayed after reported altercation with another pit and a German Shepherd. Pepper sprayed, wash hands if in contact.

🐶 Dog Friendly: Brutis has not been tested with other dogs. He was brought in after a fight with 2 other dogs so extra caution should be used. That is not a great indicator that he won’t be able to live peacefully with other dogs as we do not know the circumstances around that incident. Very slow introductions over weeks, not days or hours, can help Brutis develop healthy doggy friendships.

📌 Brutis has had a tough time and really isn’t showing us his best side at the moment but he wants to trust again and he has so much love to give! I would highly recommend reactive dog training for his new family, that would allow you to give him a wonderful peaceful life in the future

*All dogs need slow intros and time to decompress
*Dogs or a 10+ year commitment
*Kids should never be left unattended or allowed to bother dogs, but especially shelter dogs!

THOR 🏆 kennel 325, 7 years old, 77 lb.

Thor is a charismatic, social fellow; he’s confident, happy, affectionate, and a tad goofy. His smile is especially captivating, particularly when treats are involved. Thor has a gorgeous maple coat that’s just begging to be brushed; he’s truly a stunning dog with a gregarious personality🥰

🐶🐶Thor did great with Royal (female); he was respectful and happy. He was a bit tense around other males; slow introductions and guidance are a must. We felt that Thor was likely intimidated by the size and fluff of another male, Appa (over 100 lb). Thor was more tolerant around Spencer, a young Catahoula male (unaltered), when Spencer respected his boundaries. Thor would thrive in a stable, loving home where he has space to move around, has regular exercise and stimulation, and his sensitivity around other males is properly managed.

JUST PUPPIES‼️

Conner and Shasta are the cutest little 6 month old siblings. They are playful and fun and cute and SO full of love! This can’t be the end of their lives 😭

Conner and Shasta are currently kenneled separately and do not have to go to a home together. They can absolutely be adopted separately— in fact, it is encouraged!

🐶 Conner and Shasta did great in playgroup with large dogs!

Conner – 6-month-old male Staffordshire Terrier mix; he was brought in by a field officer on 6/1/26 weighing 29.9lbs.

🩵🩶🤍SPENCER kennel 408 – 2-year-old male Catahoula mix; he was brought in by a citizen on 6/1/26 weighing 56.4lbs.

Spencer is a strikingly beautiful boy with a dazzling multi-color coat. He’s blue eyes express intelligence and curiosity. Spencer was happy and affectionate with volunteers. He walks great on leash.

🐶🐶 Spencer was friendly and open with other dogs, including Thor and Lola. Spencer enjoyed interactions with friendly, polite dogs and appeared to prefer avoiding confrontations.

Research the breed❗️Catahoulas have strong working ability. Expect to provide regular strenuous exercise along and consistent training. This breed needs confident, firm but also loving leader. Such an incredible potential!

GUNTHER – 3-year old male, approximately 70 lb. Neutered. Kennel 413

GUNTHER🫶🩵🫶 is a happy, easy-going, and affectionate guy. He has a mild skin condition, likely due to poor nutrition and neglect. He has a collar and was obviously someone's loyal dog.

🩵Social with people, loves treats and will sit when told; he also will give paw.
🩵Well mannered, walks nicely on leash, occasionally gets excited.
🐶🐶 Gunther tested well with other dogs during our evaluations with Olive and Sport. Slow introductions are always a must to set up the dogs for success.

Staff notes 📝 “06/09/26 10:13 Gunther was easy to leash and take out of kennel. walked easy, allowed all over touch and gives paw and knows sit. when out in yard he follwed me around and stayed by my side. When meeting with female rottie both did well sniffed eachother no issues. walked around yard together just fine. female was sniffing a spot of the grass and gunther came to sniff as well and female let out a growl, gunther didnt reacte all was fine and continued to coexsist in yard.”
