Gales Creek Camp for Children with Type I Diabetes

This is the place where a type 1 isn't the only 1.

Gales Creek Camp Foundation is dedicated to providing camp experiences for children, youth and families directly affected by type 1 diabetes. Through traditional and innovative camp programs designed around fun, we are committed to nurturing a positive attitude toward life and fostering the transition toward independence, integrating diabetes management and self-care skills with social and life skills.

Thank you to all our amazing donors who participated in our FIRST EVER Venmo fundraising campaign. It was a huge success! In fact, 9 Square in the Air headed out to camp already and is going to be installed on Saturday! We can’t wait for y’all to see all the fun we had this summer! 🎉

A big, big thank you to the Junction City Lions Club for their amazing gift of a brand new John Deere zero turn mower to keep our meadow looking great! We use the meadow for all kinds of things, like field games, kickball, campfires and more, but our old mower deck was falling apart it. Then the Lions answered the call! Thanks the Junction City Lions Club for covering the cost and the Legend Lynn C**n for shepherding the process from beginning to end. That mower will last us 20+ years, and we'll be grateful the whole time.

Come see us at a car show that benefits GCC! Gales Creek Camp was chosen by IPD USA as beneficiary of their annual "Garage Sale" event.

When: Saturday May 16th, 2026 - 9:00am to 3:00pm
Where: 11744 NE Ainsworth Cir. Portland, Oregon 97220

This fun annual event, which features a Volvo specific car show and a "garage sale" from their warehouse for Volvo enthusiasts, is an all-around great way to kick off the summer. So come out, see some cars, hear some music, and let the good times roll. Food trucks will be onsite, too.

We’re raising $3,898 to bring TWO new activities to camp this summer—and we need YOU!

OUR GOAL: to purchase Big Blue Blocks for our younger campers, for endless building, creativity, and game play. 9 Square in the Air is for our middle & high schoolers which combines the classic games of 4 square and volleyball in a new way.

Play golf for the kids of Gales Creek Camp!

Join us for the 4th Annual Colton Henry Golf Tournament on Sunday, June 7th at 8:30am at Greenlea Golf Course in beautiful Boring, Oregon.

Format is a 2-person scramble. Winners receive prizes, but nothing compares to the feeling of supporting Gales Creek Campers!

$100 per person, and ALL proceeds benefit Gales Creek Camp.

The time is almost here!! Registrations opens TOMORROW, Wednesday, January 28th at 10am!

Thank you for your understanding as we upgraded our registration system. We hope the new system will be more streamlined and intuitive. But the best part is, with this new system we expect improvements in check-in day efficiencies and wait times. Win-Win!
