Tigard Historical Association

The Tigard Historical Association was established in 1978 to preserve the cultural and historical legacy of the 1880 John Tigard House and Tigard.

During THA Founders' Day Saturday, more than 37 visitors from as far away as Seeley Lake, Montana toured the John Tigard House Museum. Visitors included Tigard Mayor Yi Kang Hu and City Council member Faraz Ghaddusi. THA thanked them for their excellent year-round maintenance of the JTH grounds. The weather was perfect and many guests marveled at the excellent condition of this 1880s home and museum contents.

We moved the date one week to Saturday, April 18th! Please stop by the John Tigard House for "Founders' Day" 1:30 to 4:00 pm. The house is a museum and you can time travel to 1880! It is free and plenty to see!

We are ready for the Victorian Christmas Open House on Saturday, December 6, 2025 from 1-4 pm. Stop by with your cell phones to take pictures of Santa from 1:30 pm to 3:30 pm! Seek a peek at our new roof. It will protect this 1880s National Historic home for many years to come!

Fall is in the air and mark your calendars for the THA Victorian Christmas on December 6th from 1 to 4 pm. Take free photos with Santa in an 1880s home with period furnishings! Enjoy cookies, music and stories about Tigard's history!

Stop by the John Tigard House on Saturday, September 27 from 1 to 4 pm to tour the Museum and watch apples getting crushed and cored by century old machinery! The event is free and we will have some apple treats for all!

City of Tigard gets the job done! A tree branch fell onto the fence in front of the John Tigard House (JTH). A quick email to the City and the branch was gone the same day! Thank you for maintaining the JTH yard for our events!

Learn more about Tigard by visiting the John Tigard House on Saturday, April 12 from 1 to 3:30 pm for Town Founder's Day. The JTH is a museum up on Little Bull Mountain at the intersection of Canterbury Lane and 103rd. The museum will be open for viewing and THA members will be onsite to answer questions.
