VFW Post 6119 presents awards to Patriot Pen winners and Voice of Democracy. All our winners were from George West. (Once again, there were no entry from Three Rivers.) Two of the three Patriot Pen winners we past on to district, also won prizes there. Congratulations to the winners, the George West school staff that supports these programs there, and thank you to each of the students who turned in an entry. We look forward to doing this again in the fall. Maybe some home schoolers or Three Rivers students will give you completion then.

All Veterans are welcome to join us, but especially any of our comrades that served in Vietnam. The public is welcome as well to show their respect to these men and women.
---
The Vietnam Peace Accord, officially known as the Paris Peace Accords, was signed on January 27, 1973, to establish peace in Vietnam and end the Vietnam War. It called for a ceasefire, the withdrawal of U.S. troops, and the return of prisoners of war, but ultimately failed to bring lasting peace, as fighting resumed shortly after the agreement was signed.
