The Clovis Ray Scholarship

The Clovis Ray Scholarship This Scholarship Fund was established in memory of Clovis' sacrifice to our country while serving as a platoon leader in the U.S. Army in Afghanistan.

First Lieutenant Clovis T. Ray of Three Rivers, Texas, died on March 15, 2012, while leading his U.S. Army infantry platoon in the Kunar Province in Afghanistan. A native Texan, Clovis was killed when enemy insurgents attacked his unit with an improvised explosive device. The Clovis Ray Scholarship Fund was established in memory of Clovis and has grown fourfold since its inception in 2012. The fun

d awards scholarships to graduating high school students at Three Rivers High School who embody the characteristics which Clovis lived by—courage, leadership, and dedication to excellence. The students receive two annual payments to help them pay for college. The Clovis T. Ray Scholarship Fund, Inc. is a non-profit corporation in the State of Texas and has 501(c)(3) tax exempt status with the U.S. Federal government. Donations are deductible from taxable income for federal tax return purposes. If you would like to donate, please visit our website at http://www.clovisrayscholarship.org.

Congratulations to our 2021 Clovis T. Ray Scholarship winners! We had a tough time selecting just two but finally decided on Larysa Fuentes and Gabriella Hiraldo. They both excel academically, are incredible athletes and are well known and liked in the community.

Larysa is heading off to Texas State University to study pre-med and Gabriella is going to Concordia University in Irvine to achieve her goal of becoming an aquatic veterinarian.

We are honored to support them in achieving their goals. Well done Gabriella and Larysa!
