The lack of access to quality early learning and care affects babies during their most critical period of development. As families are priced out and providers shut their doors, parents are forced to choose between caregiving and responsibilities like work or school. Child care is the work that helps everyone else work.

- 39.6% goes to childcare alone before anything else - when the U.S. Dept of Treasury recommends 7%.

Colorado is the #1 most expensive state for families when it comes to the cost of childcare and other debt.

This is impacting our families' ability to work and have stable and trusted childcare options.

This impacts our childcare programs as many have seen their enrollment decrease as fewer families can afford childcare. Programs cannot lower their tuition as they are operating on razor thin margins as costs for providing high quality care are increasing. Almost twice as many programs closed in Adams County last year.

We have to advocate for more public and private funding to support families' ability to work and children's ability to be in high quality childcare programs.
