ONE WEEK LATER

It’s hard to believe it’s already been a week since our very first Rock Bottom Hope luncheon at East Shore.

We gathered to share the heart of RBH: how we walk alongside people and families at rock bottom and help them move toward a hope-filled future. In 2026 so far, we’ve come alongside more than 600 individuals and families and provided nearly $40,000 in Hope Scholarships to help remove barriers to recovery.

But the luncheon was also a chance to share where we believe God is leading us next. We offered a glimpse of RBH Reset—our vision for a safe, supportive home where women and children can find stability, recovery support, and a path forward.

We’re grateful to everyone who joined us, and especially to Jill and Ted Behrens for hosting and helping make this first luncheon possible. Thank you for believing in this mission and helping us imagine what’s ahead.

One week later, we’re still carrying the stories, the conversations, and the hope from that room with us. There is more work to do—and we’re grateful to walk this road together.

Sometimes I wonder what my life would’ve looked like if I’d made different choices. Then my son reminded me: if I hadn’t walked through what I did, we might not be here today.

That doesn’t make the painful parts good. But it reminds me that Jesus can redeem what was broken and bring purpose from places we never wanted to go.

I never imagined this is where life would lead.

There was a time I was certain I would die alone, with a needle in my arm.

My body was falling apart, destroyed from the inside out. My mind was lost in drug-induced psychosis. I had sunk so deep into addiction that I was using toilet water to mix the drugs I was injecting into my veins.

I didn’t just believe I was broken. I believed broken was all I would ever be.

But God.

In His infinite mercy, He met me at rock bottom. Not when I was clean. Not when I had anything left to offer. He met me in the wreckage.

And I crawled out one agonizing inch at a time.

Even after the drugs were gone, the wounds remained. Years of horrific trauma, shame, and pain I never believed could heal.

But God wasn’t finished.

Today, I look at my family, at the life we’re building, and at the privilege of leading Rock Bottom Hope. I get to sit across from people living in the same darkness that nearly killed me and tell them their story isn’t over.

Not because I read it in a book. Because I lived it.

And somehow, after everything, we’re stepping into what I believe will be the most beautiful years of our lives.

I don’t understand why my life was spared when so many others weren’t. But I know I want to spend every breath I have reminding the broken that they are not forgotten.

The life I once begged to escape has become a life I never could have imagined.

God doesn’t waste our pain. He redeems what we surrender to Him.

Rock bottom wasn’t the end of my story.

It was where hope began.

And by God’s grace, we’re just getting started. ❤️

What a beautiful afternoon of HOPE! 💙 Our first Rock Bottom Hope East Shore Luncheon was filled with faith, vision, powerful testimonies, and hearts united around the belief that no life is beyond restoration. A heartfelt thank-you to Jill & Ted Behrens for generously hosting and sponsoring, Original ChopShop for the delicious food, and EC Blooms for the stunning centerpieces! We are deeply grateful to Ronda Trow, Melissa Woodman, Drew Harris, and Brandon White for sharing powerful stories of courage, redemption, and the life-changing impact of Hope Scholarships. Special thanks to Brad Bailey, Adam Lamb, and Cindy Heiser for joining us and supporting our mission!

As we looked around the room, we couldn’t help but think about the people we haven’t reached yet. The mothers still praying, the families desperate for a breakthrough, and the lives waiting to be restored. That’s why we do what we do. Here’s to a bright future, incredible partnerships, and countless stories of transformation still to come. The best is yet to come! 🙌💙
