🎶 MUSICAL MONDAYS🎶

🎤 MEET THE VOICE PARTS!

Have you ever wondered what all those letters mean when you see SATB on a piece of choral music?

They represent four traditional vocal sections:

🎵 SOPRANO — The highest traditional vocal part, often carrying the melody.

🎵 ALTO — The lower female vocal part, adding warmth and richness to the harmony.

🎵 TENOR — The higher traditional male vocal part, often adding brightness and movement.

🎵 BASS — The lowest vocal part, providing depth and the foundation of the harmony.

Put them all together and you get the wonderful world of SATB choral music! 🎶

👇 Which voice part are YOU?

🎤 Soprano
🎤 Alto
🎤 Tenor
🎤 Bass

🇬🇧 Flashback Friday: The Woodlands Chorale Goes Across the Pond! 🎶

✈️🇬🇧🎵

Take a trip back with us to an unforgettable moment from The Woodlands Chorale’s UK tour! Our singers gathered at the iconic Martyr’s Memorial in Oxford, surrounded by centuries of history, beautiful architecture, and, of course, plenty of music-loving memories. 🇬🇧

From rehearsals and performances to exploring historic streets and sharing unforgettable moments together, our UK tour was a journey we’ll always treasure. ❤️

🎶 Music has a wonderful way of taking us places, and sometimes the journey itself becomes part of the song.

Where should our musical memories take us next? Hopefully someplace with lots of pasta and espresso. 🌎🎼

What exactly makes choral music so special?

A choir brings together different voices, ranges, personalities, and musical backgrounds to create one unified sound. From soaring sopranos to rumbling basses, every voice has a role to play!

🎉 Happy Birthday, Dr. Mark Marotto! 🎉

Today we celebrate our Artistic Director and Conductor, Dr. Mark Marotto, whose passion, artistry, and dedication continue to inspire The Woodlands Chorale.

Through your leadership, you bring music to life, challenge us to grow as musicians, and create unforgettable performances that enrich our community. Your vision, talent, and commitment have made a lasting impact on every member of our chorale. I spoke with a member of the chorale this past season and was told, “Mark makes us sound better. I didn’t know I could do this with my voice.”

Please join us in wishing Mark a very happy birthday filled with joy, laughter, and beautiful music. We are grateful for your leadership and look forward to another incredible season together!

Happy Birthday, Dr. Mark! 🎂🎶🎼

🎶 Happy Father’s Day from The Woodlands Chorale! 🎶

Today we celebrate the fathers, grandfathers, stepfathers, mentors, and father figures whose love, guidance, and support help us find our voice and reach for new heights.

Music has long been shaped by remarkable fathers. One example is Johann Sebastian Bach, a devoted father of 20 children, several of whom became accomplished musicians themselves. His legacy reminds us that the gifts we share with future generations can resonate far beyond our own lifetime.

To all the dads who inspire, encourage, and cheer us on from the audience and beyond, thank you for being the steady rhythm in our lives.

Happy Father’s Day! ❤️

Have a Happy Musical Monday!

Here’s a quote by composer extraordinaire, Eric Whitacre.

06/12/2026

This past Sunday, we had the honor to join Lord of Life Lutheran The Woodlands TX for their 2nd Sunday after Pentecost worship service.

Here we are singing, "The Lord Bless You and Keep You" under the direction of a fellow chorale member, Garrett Maddox.
