The rain couldn't dampen our spirits as we had a wonderful time serving hot dogs and playing games at our annual Hot Dog Picnic on April 18th, where International Rotary club joined forces with Oaklawn Rotary Club to bring joy to Texarkana Resources for the Disabled and Opportunities Inc.

On April 21st, we were excited to gather at Verona's Italian Restaurant downtown for a momentous celebration dinner, honoring the extraordinary dedication of Winford Dunn for an incredible 57 years of service and Hershel Flanagan for an impressive 26 years of service, both exemplars of the Oaklawn Rotary Club's unwavering commitment to integrity and service above self. They were each presented an award and we were blessed their families were in attendance. Thank you to Albertsons Florist on Stateline for the gorgeous table arrangements and a special thanks to Inflatable Love by Jacqualyn Bradley for the balloon arch on such short notice. Everything looked great and we had an amazing evening honoring these two great Rotarians. They have made an impact on each of us as well as the community.

The 34th Annual Cecil Phillips Teacher Appreciation Luncheon, hosted by the Rotary Clubs of Texarkana, honored 2025–2026 Campus and District Teachers of the Year from local school districts. This annual event celebrates educators from LEISD, PGISD, TASD, and TISD with a lunch and gifts. We are so excited that our District Governor Damon Donnell made it to the event to celebrate with all of us! Congratulations to all the Teachers for their hard work and dedication to education for all of our youth!
