with heavy hearts, our Union - Local 1421 - is reaching out to ask for your prayers , consideration, and support for our incredibly kind & loving ,longtime members Rubén Jimenez’s family. Not only is he known as a hardworking father, devoted husband, and deeply loved member of his family.. He has also been by our side as our union brother for almost 25 years now. Sadly, What started as an ordinary day for Ruben unexpectedly turned into a tragedy that has changed his family’s lives.
“Rubén was found unconscious inside his vehicle after suffering a stroke and a brain hemorrhage. He was rushed to the hospital, where he remains in critical condition. Rubén is currently in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), relying on a ventilator to help him breathe. He is also experiencing serious complications affecting his brain and other vital organs. His condition remains critical, and our family continues to hold on to faith, hope, and prayers for his recovery.”
As the primary financial provider for his wife and their two children, ages 15 and 10, Rubén has always worked hard to ensure they have stability and a better future. For this reason, we are reaching out to our family, friends, members, and anyone with a generous heart to help support Rubén’s wife and children during this incredibly difficult time. Every donation, no matter the amount, will make a meaningful difference. Your generosity will help ease the financial burden on his family, allowing them to focus on being by Rubén’s side and supporting one another throughout this difficult journey. We want to give a HUGE thank you to the 1421 Members & employees who came down to volunteer with us at the Wilmington Fall Festival last weekend . We had an incredible turnout, and a gorgeous day ! Thanks to them , between this event and our pop up at the Walk For Hope Festival in Lawrence.. our 1421 Members helped give away 350 backpacks !! filled with school supplies! to local kids who needed them🥳📚🙏📣❤️✊🏽✊🏾✊🏼✊🏿✊🏻🦺 thank you to everyone who came by and said hello , we were so happy to see the kids have a great day rockin the hard hats 👷👷‍♀️👷‍♂️⚒️🦺 if you spread the word , you helped change a child’s day and school year. It’s always a great honor to serve with others in our community . Thank you Wilmington Fall Fest for letting us join the event this year . 🍂🍁We wish everyone a safe holiday weekend - Local 1421

THIS SATURDAY! Local 1421 will be popping up at the fall fest in Wilmington, MA @ the town common! We will be there from 9 AM til 4 PM, or while supplies last! We will be giving out backpacks filled with school supplies to anyone in need. Stop by our tent to get yours! Located at 150 Church St. Tickets are $10.50! We hope to see you there!
And please enjoy these photos from September 19 when we gave away free backpacks at Lazarus house ministries walk for hope in Lawrence. We are very thankful for the volunteers who came out to help us at these events, we are so proud to call them members of Local 1421 . A little bit of your time can go a long way for these kids. and we are still looking for more volunteers for this Saturday. It is with deep and profound sadness, we announce the sudden and tragic loss of Local 1421 Member, our Union Brother , Jonathan Welch ; “a beloved son, brother, uncle, friend, and, most of all, an incredibly devoted father to his daughter, Ella.”
Visitation will be held on Friday, August 28th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Norton Memorial Funeral Home (19 Clapp St, Norton, MA 02766)
His family is facing this devastating loss while also navigating the unexpected financial burden that comes with it. They are asking for your help in supporting his parents and, most importantly, his daughter, Ella. They created a GoFundMe to help cover Jonathan’s funeral and final expenses. “Boston’s next generation of construction professionals are about to get a head start. Boys & Girls Clubs of Boston (BGCB) is partnering with the Rising Stars Program, a nonprofit working to close the skilled labor gap, to launch Trade Trailblazers, an eight-week summer experience that connects teens to rewarding, in-demand careers in the skilled trades.” We were lucky enough to host this great group of students who are interested in the Building Wrecker’s Trade yesterday. We got to show them some of the tools we use as Wreckers, talk about the jobsites, and gave them a glimpse at machinery our laborers are trained to operate . It was a pleasure as always , and we can’t wait to do it again next year. We can see our future, and it is BRIGHT 🦺🦺🦺
