100+ Women Who Care in Clay County

100+ Women Who Care in Clay County 100 Women Who Care Clay County is a philanthropic designed to provide financial support for
charitable causes in Clay County, IN.

Members of 100 Women Who Care Clay County meet on a quarterly basis to nominate, advocate and select a nonprofit organization to collectively support. Each member agrees to donate a total of $500 per year of membership. The first $100 is added to the 100 Women Who Care Clay County Endowment fund in the Community Foundation. The remaining $400 is used to support the four nonprofit organizations sel

ected throughout the year ($100 at each meeting). Here's how it works:

Each member can put her name and the name of an organization she would like to have considered in a drawing at each meeting. Three members' submissions will randomly be selected to give a 5 minute presentation advocating for their agency, followed by 3 minutes for questions. At the end of the presentations, members will vote on which organization they would like to see funded. The organization with the most votes will be announced as that quarter's grant recipient. Each member will then make a $100 contribution to the selected organization. Once an organization has been selected, it is not eligible for funding for 2 years. Note: To be eligible for consideration, the organization must be a 501(c)3 or government entity. Nonprofits affiliated with religious organizations are eligible as long as the services address a societal need and are not restricted based upon religious affiliation. Only nonprofits that serve Clay County are eligible. Controversial and political nonprofits will not be considered.

We want to thank Family Support Services of West Central Indiana for returning to talk with us last week. The organization received our December 2025 grant. The grant was used for Family Support Services' supportive housing program in Clay County. It helped two families find safety and stability after abusive situations. In addition to providing a safe place to live, the program aims to help residents find employment and enroll in other services.

Over the years, members of 100+ Women Who Care have supported several nonprofits that serve a wide variety of community needs. By joining, you can nominate organizations to speak and potentially receive a quarterly grant made possible through the generosity of our members. We’d love to welcome you for the last half of the year.

When you join 100+ Women Who Care, you're supporting philanthropy in different ways! Your quarterly pledges go to the organizations that members select at each meeting, but your membership fee goes to an endowment fund to support community grants, like this one at Forest Park Elementary! The Clay County Board awards these grants through competitive cycles. https://www.facebook.com/share/v/1CrPE8LHzR/
