Nicholas Casad Memorial Scholarship Foundation

Nicholas Casad Memorial Scholarship Foundation Our goal is to help kids fulfill their dreams through higher education. This is what Nick would want. He loved God and his family. Nick was a student athlete.

On June 11th, 2023 at 11:06 am, we lost our 20 year old son, Nicholas Bryant Casad in a tragic car accident while driving to church. Nicholas was home for the summer and was going into his Junior year at Wabash College in Crawfordsville, IN. He was studying Chemistry with a minor in Biology/Religion in hopes of being a Pediatrician one day. Nicholas was the most kind hearted, caring, and loving pe

rson. He had a very special bond with his younger brother Collin. They often pushed each other in the weight room and on the wrestling mat. See things never came "easy" for Nick he had to work twice as hard, whether on the football field, wrestling mat, or in the classroom. He graduated high-school with high honors and several other achievements but this was with a lot of dedication and determination on his part. He was dedicated to Football, Wrestling, and Weightlifting. He was a four-year Varsity member on these teams in high-school at Terre Haute South before graduating in 2021. He was a collegiate wrestler at Wabash. During his freshman year of college he had his highs and lows, but he stayed true to his Faith, staying dedicated and determined to succeed. We watched him grow and learn so much in his Sophomore year and, we were so proud of him. He was beyond excited and ready for his junior year. Nicholas always wanted to help others. He wanted to care for sick children as a pediatrician. He knew the value and importance of a higher education. Nick was also a volunteer coach for the Terre Haute South Wrestling program when he was home from college. He wanted to give back to the program and the sport that taught him so much. Nick wanted younger wrestlers to have the passion and opportunities he had while growing up. The tragic accident that took Nicks life way too soon made Eric and I realize, Nick is not done fulfilling his dream. We decided to establish a foundation in his name. Our goal is to help kids fulfill their dreams by helping them through education. To handout scholarships yearly to students who have the same qualities that Nick had. This is what Nicholas would want. Several other reason’s we formed the “Nicholas Casad Memorial Scholarship Foundation”:
1. We want Nick's legacy to live on by helping others achieve some of the goals and dreams that Nick had set forth to accomplish himself. This is what he would have wanted from us.
2. We want to remind everyone that family time is precious. Creating everlasting memories, photos and videos are PRICELESS.
3. To remind everyone that “TIME” is you’re most precious priority. You never know when your “TIME” will be up. No money, car or job can replace “TIME” and “MEMORIES”.
4. The foundation will also create “Care/Grief Packages” for families who have lost a child suddenly. These packages will be filled with gift cards, restaurant gift certificates, grief literature, religious items, etc. These same items assisted Eric and myself during our difficult time after loosing Nick. Items that will hopefully lift the family up during this extraordinarily difficult time in their life.
5. To have Faith in God, Trust in God, and Grace for each other to help us through. Our goal is to spend Eternal Life in Heaven with God and our loved ones. Build a relationship with God, allow him to lead us to Heaven, to our loved ones one day. Your donations, sponsorships, and precious time will make this a successful foundation, and that means the world to Eric, Collin, and I. Knowing that Nick's passion for helping others will live on each year is priceless to us. God Bless You. Love,
Eric, Julie, Collin and “Nicholas” Casad

We established Nicks scholarship through the Wabash Valley Community Foundation. Helping to choose the recipient is a blind process. It was very special to hear that this years recipient shared Nicks name and has a passion for healthcare.
Congratulations to Terre Haute South senior Nicholas Noval! He will be attending Indiana State University this fall with direct admission into their nursing program. Thank you for applying and being a part of our foundation family. We can’t wait to follow your journey and watch you do amazing things! 🦋💙

“Nicholas Casad was an outstanding football player, and weightlifter at Terre Haute South-but above all, he was an exceptional wrestler. Wrestling was his true passion. This school wasn't just a building to him- it was his community, his home, and the place where his closest friendships and greatest memories were made.
After high school, Nick continued his wrestling career at Wabash College, where he was working toward a degree in hopes of becoming a pediatrician. He wanted to make a difference in the lives of others, and he lived every day with purpose and passion.
We established this scholarship so that Nick's ideals, energy, and name could live on through others.
Nicholas was the kindest and most sincere brother. He was incredibly ambitious, filled with big dreams and unstoppable determination. When he walked into a room, his energy was undeniable and contagious. He always strived to be the best-the best wrestler, the best student, the best friend, the best brother, and the best son.
Nick's faith, perspective, determination, and energy were what made him truly special. These qualities shaped how he saw the world and how he inspired those around him.
Throughout his life, Nick faced many challenges. He understood adversity-and instead of being discouraged by it, he used it as fuel to push himself further. Giving up was never in his nature.
One of his greatest goals was to earn a college degree. He believed deeply in the value of education and worked relentlessly toward that dream.
Through this scholarship, we hope to continue Nick's legacy by supporting students who share his drive, resilience, and heart.”

As Wabash graduation approaches, we have been thinking a lot about Nicholas and the brothers he started this journey with. This year, we were fortunate to give 3 awards to seniors in the Class of 2025—young men who were rung in with Nick and who, in so many ways, reflect the values he held dear: kindness, determination, humility, and a deep love for Wabash.

I have no doubt that Nick would be incredibly proud of his Wabash brothers and the legacy they’re carrying forward as the Class of 2025 prepares to graduate. ❤️🤍
