Shifra has been blessed with the extraordinary opportunity to purchase a permanent home for outreach in our community. On the condition that SHIFRA can raise $287,000, a donor is willing to match and donate half of the cost of a family education and birth center. Because I told we're blown away by the generosity and are already working hard at gaining the funds in order to make this chance possible.

---> Free classes for mothers and families on sustainability.
---> A community garden for everyone to add and benefit from.
---> Women in Benewah & beyond can stay local for their pregnancy, birth, and postpartum care.
---> local midwives can rent the space for birth and care.
---> And so many other classes and services!

Many women in Benewah are forced to drive hours away from their homes to give birth. Opening the center is opening so many doors for families and mothers!

Hello!!

We opened our Nursing Nest today! We won't be open much longer this evening, but we will be open all day tomorrow at the Saint Maries Fair!

We have cold drinks & snacks & diapers for nursing mamas or anyone with a need!

Hello All!

Shifra is super excited to share that we will be back with the Nursing Nest at the Benewah County Fair next weekend August 20-22nd!

A nice, cool place to nurse your babies, change a diaper, get a snack, and out of the heat, the Nursing Nest is the perfect place for Mamas and their littles to take a break from all the fun!

Our participation in the Single Moms In Life Empowerment Mother's Day Event was so special!

We were so excited to bless so many mamas with our clothing boutique and the baskets so many of our lovely support helped make! 52 baskets were made and so many more mothers were able to get something new and special!

Here is a very impactful story from one of these mamas:

"I wanted to share it with you something really special that happened. I do not own a single piece of jewelry that I have owned has been borrowed by my daughters and after the first daughter, I kind of just gave up so I decided to take one of the jewelry that Shifra was offering, and I saw that it a cross, and the necklace was wrapped around it so I couldn’t really see anything else and was in a rush. Today I decided to open the necklace and I was shocked to find a long stemmed rose on the cross. This is very special to me because of the significance of roses for me, especially in my walk with Jesus. I have a Rose tattoo. Rose is both me and my daughter’s middle name and it is the name she goes by. I could go on and on about how important roses are to me. i looked up the exact picture of the cross necklace in Google and I looked for a meaning, but I haven’t been able to find one other than my own interpretation. I feel very loved and thankful for it and I have been wearing it all day."

Shifra received a generous check from a donor through the American Online Giving Foundation. We appreciate this donation greatly! We will use the money towards opening our mobile outreach!

We'd also like to take the time to thank all of our other donors and generous monthly givers. Every dollar given to SHIFRA will be used to further our mission in Serving Health Individuals Faithfully, Respectfully, and Always.

After much prayer and consideration, SHIFRA has made the difficult decision to shut the doors on our Saint Maries location. Our board is growing (and we can't wait to share what is in store!) but we weren't able to utilize the space well due to a lack of volunteers to keep it open.

It is bittersweet. SHIFRA has been able to help and reach out to many families in the Saint Maries area and beyond with our physical location.

HOWEVER: This isn't the end of SHIFRA! We still aim to service mothers and families in need in the Northern Idaho area. We have large dreams and goals that we hope will come to fruition.

As for our clothing exchange and freeze-dried breast milk program: please contact Shel or message us on Instagram or Facebook. They are still up and running, but we will operate on private appointments to meet the needs of the community.

Prayers and donations to our page, shifra.life, would be much appreciated during this time.

Thank you to everyone still donating, praying, and cheering us on.

God isn't finished with us yet!
