We had the opportunity to join the Talladega Housing Authority today for their Family Initiative Day, and it was nothing short of amazing. A great time was had by all in attendance. It was truly a blessing to see the community come together to enjoy fellowship, connect with one another, and share valuable resources.
Thank you so much to the Talladega Housing Authority and all of the community partners who came out and helped make today such a wonderful and successful event.

The 6th graders graduated from Houston Elementary School on Thursday, May 14, 2026. It was a beautiful sunny morning. The Life Skills Program was taught during the 2025-2026 school year by Life Skills Facilitator, Mrs. Stella Taylor. Listed below are various monthly topics/activities covered such as: Proper hygiene, Pressures of to***co, drugs and alcohol, Red Ribbon week, being thankful, The real meaning of Christmas, Proper table etiquette, Black history, Women history, Random acts of kindness, Beginners American sign language, Child Abuse Awareness, History of Earth day, Benefits of solar power, etc. These topics encouraged students growth, knowledge, dedication and enthusiasm by enhancing their abilities to stand tall, be confident and encouraging themselves and their peers. This is in alignment with the school districts motto: A better tomorrow begins by pursuing excellence today.
All the beautiful pictures with the radiant smiles says it all on their graduation day ! The scholars are now well equipped and on their way to Junior High School.
