MERCY
The first pale touch of morning wakes the dew upon the grass,
And watches every shadow of the sleeping winter pass.
It spills across the pasture where the gentle creatures stand,
A warm and quiet witness to a peaceful, waking land.
To live as though the sunrise belongs to all who breathe,
