Dear Grand Strand MOAA Chapter Members,
The Fundraising Committee of the Grand Strand Chapter MOAA hopes all of you had an enjoyable summer. Now that fall is upon us, we are excited to announce the first annual Grand Strand Chapter MOAA Online fall raffle fundraiser. The fundraiser started on Wednesday, September 9th and will run until November 9th with only 500 tickets to be sold. The fundraisers’ purpose is to raise funds specifically for our Veteran’s Outreach Program to include funds that will also support Emergency Financial and Life needs of homeless and disadvantaged Veterans and their families across the Grand Strand area. The cost of the raffle is $20 for1 ticket or $50 for a 3 ticket bundle.
The GSCMOAA Fall Fundraiser Raffle consists of 3 prizes being raffled off: 1st prize is: a certificate at any of the 21 Founders Group International Courses in Myrtle Beach for four players with cart. 2nd prize is a $300 gift certificate to Spa 33 at Kingston Plantation for a massage, pedicure, manicure, or facial with gratuity and tax or any other services as you would like up to the dollar value. 3rd prize is: $250 gift cart to Palmetto State Armory
To make this fundraiser a success we need your support! The support the committee is asking for from the membership is twofold:
First - Send the online raffle information to your family members, neighbors, friends and others whom you think would support the raffle and our cause. Social Media is the best way to reach people so share, share, share!
Second – Support this fundraiser by purchasing a raffle ticket, or better yet, buy a three- ticket bundle for $50.
We are marketing this raffle through our Facebook site, Website, with flyers posted at Veteran friendly locations, and word of mouth by our membership.
The cost of a ticket is $ 20 each or a three-ticket bundle for $ 50.
Also – please note that we are using the QR code below to conduct this raffle electronically, no paper tickets. Just use your phone’s camera over the code and it will link you to the raffle fundraising site.

The Grand Chapter MOAA is holding its First Annual Fall Raffle to raise money for the Outreach Program, specifically for Stand Down items, food, and emergency relief to homeless and at risk Veterans. We are asking for your support by purchasing a ticket or a bundle of three tickets for a chance to win one of three fabulous prizes:

1st Place Prize- A round of golf with carts for a foursome at one of the 21 Founder Group Golf Courses here in Myrtle .

2nd Place Prize- $300 gift certificate to Spa 33 at Kingston Plantation for a Massage, Manicure, Pedicure, Facial or whatever you desire for that amount of money with tip and gratuity.

MOAA COUNCIL and CHAPTER ANNUAL AWARDS

Our Chapter was again awarded both 5-Star Status for the MOAA Level of Excellence Award, and the MOAA Col Marvin J Harris Communications Award for 2025 for both the web site and our newsletter. Thanks to everyone who helped make 2025 another successful year for our Chapter!

The Grand Strand Chapter MOAA was honored to have Theresa Werner as their guest speaker Monday night. She is the President and Chairwoman of Honor Flight Network. She spoke about the program, how many thousands of Veterans they fly each year. How they need volunteers and how they would like to start a program here in Myrtle Beach. It was a wonderful program and this is an amazing service they provide They are providing this service to Veterans who have served through the Vietnam War. Next Year they will start serving Veterans who served in Desert Storm.

The Grand Strand Chapter MOAA Board Member Peggy DeVivo is heading up the campaign to raise funds for Wreaths Across America for our Chapter. The link is https://www.wreathsacrossamerica.org/ The cost is $17 a wreath.

Please consider supporting the purchasing of a wreath to be laid at the grave of those who gave everything for us!
