Sue Blechl Honored for Service to the Friends of the Sun City Libraries.

Sue Blechl was saluted at a recent dinner for her leadership as president of the Friends of the Sun City Libraries from 2019 to 2025. The occasion was the group’s annual dinner celebrating volunteers who work for the organization, its bookstore, and the two Sun City libraries. Blechl led the campaign in 2024 that resulted in new leases for both libraries, which are part of the Maricopa County Library District. She continues as a member of the Friends board of directors.

After much anticipation, we’re excited to share that construction is officially underway on our new library in Anthem!

This month, interior demolition work was completed on the new building, and the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors approved the construction contract.

Thank you to our community for your patience and support as we begin this exciting new chapter!
