I AM VOICES

I AM VOICES provides safe housing and supportive services to youth and women who have experienced s*xual violence and/or s*x trafficking.

Homelessness, Sexual Abuse, Sexual Exploitation, and being a young woman Aged Out of Foster Care isn't seasonal, which is why our year-round awareness and community outreach efforts is essential. Devote a little time to support people in your community who need a VOICE, you will see first-hand the impact you can have by helping others.

I AM VOICES is seeking a Board Treasurer!

As I AM VOICES continues to grow, we are looking for a committed financial professional to join our Board of Directors and help strengthen the financial stewardship of our organization.

We would especially love to connect with an accountant, CPA, finance professional, or someone with strong nonprofit financial management experience who believes in our mission of supporting survivors of s*xual violence, s*x trafficking and those at risk.

Our Treasurer will help provide board-level oversight of financial reporting, budgeting, internal controls, and long-term financial sustainability while partnering with our leadership and Board.

Board Commitment:
• Two-year term
• Quarterly board meetings
• Annual board retreat
• Approximately 6 hours per month
• Charleston, Berkeley, or Dorchester County connection preferred

This is an opportunity to bring your financial expertise to a survivor-led organization that is expanding housing, advocacy, and supportive services across South Carolina.

More than 200 minor survivors of human trafficking were identified in South Carolina in 2025. At the time, there were only 12 long term residential beds available specifically for child survivors.

Every child deserves more than survival. Through Petal Path, I AM VOICES is creating a long term residential program where young survivors can find safety, stability, and hope.

Strong community partnerships are an important part of ensuring survivors have access to the care and resources they deserve.

Our Programs Director, Chelsea Middlebrook, recently met with Dr. Khan, Director of Health Services, and Lupe Barragan-Moser, Office Manager, at ICNA Relief- Shifa Free Clinic, SC to discuss opportunities to work together in support of survivors throughout our community.

We are grateful for partners who share our commitment to collaboration and look forward to the impact we can make together.

Yesterday, our Programs Director, Chelsea Middlebrook, joined My Sister's Cottage for Shop with Purpose to help raise awareness for World Day Against Trafficking in Persons. Through the generosity of everyone who stopped by to shop, a portion of the day's proceeds will help support I AM VOICES' housing and supportive services for women and youth survivors across South Carolina.

Thank you to My Sister's Cottage for partnering with us and to everyone who chose to shop with purpose. Every act of support helps make healing and hope possible.
