Young people should not have to navigate complicated systems alone to find safety, stability, and support.

I AM VOICES was grateful to be part of the conversation around strengthening our local response to youth homelessness through the Youth Homelessness Demonstration Project.

This work connects directly to our mission. Housing instability can increase a young person’s vulnerability to violence, exploitation, and trafficking. Prevention means strengthening connections between housing, healthcare, education, advocacy, and supportive services so young people can access the resources they need.

We’re proud to bring our experience supporting survivors of s*xual violence and s*x trafficking to this collaborative work while continuing to learn from young people with lived experience.

I AM VOICES was proud to participate in the 29th Annual Kids Day at Cross High School!

Our team spent the day connecting with families, sharing resources, and providing essential items while raising awareness about the services and support available through I AM VOICES.

Events like Kids Day give us the opportunity to meet people where they are, share our mission, and make sure more individuals and families know where to turn when support is needed.

We are especially grateful for the advocates, volunteers, healthcare professionals, educators, social workers, law enforcement partners, and community supporters who work each day to provide support, resources, and hope to those who need it.

Do you have 4–6 hours a month to help create greater opportunities for survivors?

I AM VOICES is growing, and we are seeking engaged, resourceful leaders to join our Board of Directors and help guide the next chapter of our organization.

We are especially interested in professionals with experience in:

Fundraising & Philanthropy
Finance & Accounting
Strategic Partnerships & Community Leadership

We’re looking for people who are willing to do more than simply lend their name to a board. Ideal candidates are ready to bring their expertise, relationships, ideas, and connections to the table to help us strengthen resources and expand opportunities for survivors of s*xual violence and s*x trafficking.

Board members should be prepared to commit approximately 4–6 hours per month, attend quarterly board meetings, participate on a board committee, support fundraising efforts, and serve as an ambassador for the mission of I AM VOICES.

We welcome candidates throughout South Carolina, with a preference for leaders connected to Charleston, Berkeley, and Dorchester Counties.

What an amazing journey it has been learning more about the Lowcountry African American Giving Circle what it stands for, the work it does, and the genuine passion of those who make it all possible.

I AM VOICES is deeply honored to be selected as a 2026 grant recipient. This support will directly strengthen the care, transportation, and services we provide to survivors of s*xual violence and s*x trafficking as they move toward safety, healing, and independence.

We are grateful that our Founder and Executive Director, Megan Manigault, had the opportunity to share what this investment means to our organization and the survivors we serve. As Black Philanthropy Month comes to a close, we celebrate the power of collective giving and community-led change.

I AM VOICES is seeking a Board Treasurer!

As I AM VOICES continues to grow, we are looking for a committed financial professional to join our Board of Directors and help strengthen the financial stewardship of our organization.

We would especially love to connect with an accountant, CPA, finance professional, or someone with strong nonprofit financial management experience who believes in our mission of supporting survivors of s*xual violence, s*x trafficking and those at risk.

Our Treasurer will help provide board-level oversight of financial reporting, budgeting, internal controls, and long-term financial sustainability while partnering with our leadership and Board.

Board Commitment:
• Two-year term
• Quarterly board meetings
• Annual board retreat
• Approximately 6 hours per month
• Charleston, Berkeley, or Dorchester County connection preferred

This is an opportunity to bring your financial expertise to a survivor-led organization that is expanding housing, advocacy, and supportive services across South Carolina.
