Friends of Taunton Bay is a non-profit organization devoted to understand and promote the health and biological integrity of the Taunton Bay ecosystem through education, advocacy, research, and collaboration with other organizations. Members, friends, and visitors are invited to upload albums, photos, and sightings anywhere on the bay or in the watershed to this page. Think of mountains (Schoodic, Black, Catherine, Caribou), valleys, streams, ponds, fisheries, boats, habitats, flowers, wildlife, birds, weather, and the seasons.

Notice of Public Hearing

The Franklin Planning Board has scheduled a Public Hearing on an application for a Quarry License to develop a quarry on Lot 19, Tax Map 2 on South Bay Road. Applicant is T.C. Gravel LLC, represented by Stephen Salsbury of Herrick & Salsbury Inc. The applicant seeks approval under the Quarry License Ordinance of the Town of Franklin to develop a two (2) acre quarry on their 75.5-acre site, to mine and process crushed stone, rip-rap and landscaping stones.

Date of Public Hearing: Thursday, March 12th, 2026

Time of hearing: 6:30 PM

Place of hearing: Franklin Community Center meeting room

The meeting will be held in the Community Center meeting room, with access at the rear. Restroom facilities are immediately adjacent. The meeting will also be available at Zoom.com - Meeting ID 842 0069 2460, Passcode 206798, at this Zoom Link

The Planning Board will hold a regular meeting immediately following the Public Hearing and will hear and may act upon this application at that time. All application materials are available for examination at the Franklin Town Office during regular hours.
