Over the next few days or weeks, we will post photos from the Fannie Blaisdell Art Show that we held last July during Franklin's Bicentennial Celebration. Mary Frances (Fannie)West was born in Franklin, Maine on March 5, 1843. She married Samuel Judson Blaisdell on November 3, 1875. They had one child, John West Blaisdell. Fannie lived in Franklin her entire life and taught art lessons at her home to women from Franklin and surrounding communities. She died in 1930. Her paintings and those of her students still hang in many local homes.
