So thankful that horses recieve such excellent care! Every 7 weeks our farrier, Benji McCowan, comes out to care for our horse's feet.

Did you know that horse's feet are made of the same material as our fingernails? And that hooves grow continuously at about 1 1/4 of an inch per month?

My Mother's Day gift and future ministry herd member arrived today! Meet Rose...formerly Burrito. Rose was born in the morning on May 5th to a mama who had no milk. By the evening, she was surrendered to Hope's Legacy Equine Rescue under the amazing care of foster, Jamie H**p. She was quite weak and the first night was touch and go, but God has blessed Jamie with the ability to care for these fragile little babies and she is now a very spunky and bright little baby donkey. When she's a bit bigger, she will be joining the Risen Ridge Ministry herd. For now, she at the farm we live on so that we can keep a close eye on her. I have a feeling that Benny will be keeping the closest eye on her - lol! He absolutely adores her!
Welcome to the family, Rose! You have a beautiful calling ahead of you - for now, just enjoy growing up.
