So many people have asked me, “How or why did you choose Palm City Social for the Brave Like Beck Benefit?”

The truth is, Palm City Social chose us. Actually, Taylor chose us.

When Beckham was in the hospital and our family was trudging through the worst of the WORST, I received a phone call. The person on the other end said, “I’m Taylor. You don’t know me, but we know your family, and we want to help.”

And they did.

From that one phone call, Taylor, Rick, their incredible staff, and friends spent the next 3½ weeks coordinating an entire benefit for Beck and our family.

They showed up for us in a life-changing way—and I don’t use those words lightly. LIFE. CHANGING.

Life changing for Beck.
Life changing for our entire family.

In fact, they were a huge part of the inspiration behind my decision to start the Brave Like Beck Foundation. Because if a community could come together and do what they did for my sister and our family in one night, I was confident (and maybe just a little cocky 😏) that we could do it for other families in our community.

So today, we celebrate Chef Taylor. Not just because he was voted the BEST CHEF in all of Martin County (although how incredible is it that the BEST chef is also one of our greatest supporters?!) but because behind all that kitchen talent is an incredible human being with an enormous heart for his community.

We are incredibly grateful to be a proud recipient of the Auer Family Foundation grant. This generous $6,000 donation will go directly into the hands of our Brave Like Beck families, helping ease the heavy burden of travel as they journey far from home each week for their child to receive therapies and treatments. For many of these children facing rare conditions, local options simply aren’t enough, requiring families to spend countless hours on the road, in hotels, and away from their family. This support helps make those necessary trips a little more manageable for our kids who depend on them.
