MISSION STATEMENT

SPACE is an incorporated, non-partisan, not-for-profit organization, whose purpose is to promote and advocate for greater public awareness, education an action involving issues that will adversely affect the natural resources and the quality of life that is unique to our area.

• The purpose of SPACE. is to promote and advocate for preservation of the natural resources in Stony Point (ie: soil, water, and air) and to protect the quality of life that is unique to our area.

• To promote and advocate for greater public awareness and action regarding issues that will adversely affect the natural resources and quality of life in Stony Point and adjoining communities.

• To promote and advocate for environental awareness and education both in our schools and in our community.

• To build and support alliances with local government, other community organizations and individuals who are also involved in the advancement of environmental conservation, cultural/historical awareness and community action – using a non-partisan/political approach.

• To challenge and question government officials, agencies, private industry and individuals who do not act responsibly or follow proper legal procedures regarding the development of the environment and safety of the general public.

New 'No Kings' protests focus on getting out the vote. See where in NY

The "No Kings" movement's fourth round of nationwide demonstrations will focus on early voting. Rallies are planned across the Lower Hudson Valley for Saturday, Oct. 17.

"No Kings: Vote Early" events — local sites include Nanuet's Four Corners, Ossining's Market Square, Mamaroneck's Harbor Island Park and more — will encourage voter participation and election protections ahead of the Nov. 3 midterm elections. (Events take place at different times. Check specifics at nokings.org.)

Today the Stony Point Town Board posted a NOTICE of a “Special Budget Workshop” tomorrow, on TUES OCT 6 . I was not aware of this scheduled “special workshop meeting” date but it looks like it may have been announced at the September 22 Town Board meeting, which I was not able to attend – as I am sure many of you town residents were not able to attend too.

However, not sure why this “:workshop meeting” was not also publicized more widely on Facebook and it also does not appear on the Town of Stony Point Calendar on the website and there is no mention of a regular Stony Point Town Board meeting happening or agenda provided for TUES OCT 6 ?
