Last month, we got together with candidates running for Congress in New York’s 17th Congressional District to ask them if they support and ’ AI Data Center Moratorium Act, which would put a pause on the unregulated data center boom – including the one happening in Orangeburg – until we have strong national guardrails in place to protect our water, energy prices, climate and communities. Of course, the district’s incumbent Republican Rep. Mike Lawler couldn’t even be bothered to show up!
