This Mental Health Awareness Month, Pillars partnered with the Empire Board of Realtists to create space for working professionals to slow down, breathe, reflect, and simply be still.

Our founder and executive director, Tiffany, led a powerful mindfulness presentation that reminded us all of the importance of caring for ourselves mentally and emotionally. She also participated in a Mental Health Awareness fireside chat. 🧘🏿‍♂️ ✨

The DeKalb Grad & Parent Summit was filled with honest conversations, laughter, support, resources, and real community. We were honored to award scholarships, give away a MacBook, provide prevention resources, and create a space where students and families could feel seen, encouraged, and connected.

Thank you to every parent, student, speaker, moderator, volunteer, vendor, and community partner who showed up and poured into this experience. Your presence, honesty, support, and engagement made the night what it was.

A special thank you to DBHDD Office of Prevention Services for continuing to support and fund my out-of-the-box ideas and allowing Pillars Initiative to create prevention spaces that feel real, engaging, and community-centered.

The DeKalb Grad & Parent Summit is almost here and honestly… this one matters.

We built this for the juniors and seniors trying to figure out what comes next. The parents carrying a thousand thoughts at once. The students stuck somewhere between “I got it” and “I have absolutely no idea what I’m doing after graduation.”

No long lectures. No awkward assembly energy.

Just real conversations about:

💼 careers & trades
💰 scholarships
🧠 pressure & decision-making
📍life after high school
🙃 figuring it out as you go

Whether you’re planning for college, workforce, trade school, entrepreneurship, or still figuring things out, this space was created to help make those next steps feel a little less overwhelming.
