🐴 Adopt a Horse Month: Meet Buddy!

Buddy is a 2021 Appendix gelding with plenty of personality, athleticism, and potential. Currently back in work under saddle, he’s rebuilding muscle and gaining consistency while continuing to mature into a solid partner.

This handsome young gelding is smart, confident, and thrives with an experienced rider who understands young horses and can provide clear boundaries and routine. Buddy keeps life entertaining with his funny personality and eager attitude toward learning.

Buddy stands well for the farrier and is currently barefoot, though he may still have the occasional young horse wiggle during appointments. He does need to be fed separately, as he can be protective around food and dogs.

With the right person, Buddy has all the makings of a rewarding partner ready for his next chapter. 🐎

🏒🐴 Cody is taking a moment to celebrate the Carolina Hurricanes’ big win last night! While he may not be able to hit the ice himself, this adoptable horse is showing off his best victory pose!

Cody is still looking for a home of his own, and we’d love to see him score the ultimate win: a family to call his own. ❤️

🐴 It’s Adopt a Horse Month! Have you met Maverick yet?

This 7-year-old miniature horse is full of personality, flashy moves, and plenty of entertainment. Maverick keeps everyone laughing with his spirited antics and dramatic mane flips.

Since arriving at Red Dog Farm, Maverick has been settling into farm life and learning better manners around people after recently being gelded. He’s looking for an experienced horse person committed to continuing his training and helping him become the best version of himself.

Maverick may do best in a home with other geldings, though he currently shares his pasture nicely with goats and even a pig. 🐐🐷

This little guy has a big personality and is ready to find the right forever home. 🐎

🎓 Hats off to our Senior, Hewey!

This extra special boy is Hewey, a senior mixed breed who came to us as a survivor of Hurricane Helene. He has been with us since shortly after the storm, and thanks to an incredible foster family, Hewey has truly blossomed.

Like many senior dogs, Hewey does have some ongoing age-related medical needs that require specialty food, medication, and routine checkups. And trust us… this goofy guy is absolutely worth the extra effort.

Hewey is silly, playful, and full of personality. He loves other dogs and gets so excited meeting new friends that you’d swear he was still a puppy. He has brought so much joy to everyone who has met him, and he’s ready for the very best chapter yet: a forever home.

We are also thrilled to say that Hewey is sponsored by Vintage Fur Senior Dogs! His future family will receive lifelong veterinary financial assistance, with up to $600 per year toward approved expenses!!

Could you be Hewey’s happily ever after? ❤️

Lizzy’s love language is definitely food! 🥕🥬🫑🍎

Did you know that guinea pigs never stop chewing! Their teeth grow constantly, meaning they need unlimited hay to keep them filed down.

Guinea pigs are incredibly social, chatty little companions that can live for 5–8 years and require a specialized diet rich in vitamin C and of course lots of fresh hay. These prey animals love companionship, communicate through adorable squeaks, and celebrate happiness with joyful mid-air jumps! Lizzy is about 1 year old and is looking for her forever home. Learn more about her and other adoptable animals at reddogfarm.com. ❤️
