𝘾𝙖𝙡𝙡 𝙩𝙤 𝘼𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣!

Lansing is pushing a housing package that goes way beyond affordability — it’s a direct attack on local zoning power.

HB 5529-5532 and HB 5581-5585 would strip cities and townships of the ability to set key rules around lot size, parking, setbacks, duplexes, and ADUS.

Supporters call it reform. Opponents call it state preemption.

Gov. Whitmer says Michigan needs to build more housing, but communities deserve a real say in what gets built and where.
This fight is about more than housing — it’s about who holds the power.

This isn’t state vs. local control — it’s elected officials vs. developers. Who do you want making decisions about your neighborhood?

Someone from their family was taken.
We show up with food, hugs, and community.

When ICE separates immigrant families, the pain is immediate — empty chairs at dinner, scared children, bills piling up, and families wondering who will stand with them.

At MELT, people from many backgrounds and nationalities come together to support immigrant families in real, human ways: delivering groceries, checking in, offering rides, sitting with families, and giving the kind of hug that says, “You are not alone.”

Because support is not just legal paperwork.
It is food on the table.
It is someone answering the phone.
It is a neighbor showing up at the door with compassion.

If your family has been affected, or if you want to help a family that has, connect with MELT today.

Join MELT. Volunteer. Donate. Share this with someone who needs support.
