SCS-Parent Teacher Fellowship-"PTF" The (PTF) believes that strong parent involvement is a key to student success and that we are called to serve the Lord and encourage one another.

The PTF provides opportunities to support SCS & promote community & fellowship among parents and staff. Parent Teacher Fellowship

At SCS, all staff, parents, alumni, and grandparents are considered members of the Parent Teacher Fellowship (PTF). Our mission is

to create strong bonds that link families to the Statesville Christian School community through faith, fellowship and service, while providing resources and funds that directly enhance the learning experience of students and provides encouragement to teachers and staff. Everyone is encouraged to lend some of their time and God-given talents to the many volunteer opportunities that exist at SCS. Volunteering at SCS not only helps make our school the best it can be, it is a great way that you can stay connected in the school, meet other families, and get to know teachers and students! PTF Fellowship & Volunteer Opportunities

Moms in Prayer: A confidential prayer group that meets on Friday mornings at 8:15 am in the Miller Building, Upper Campus Conference Room, to pray for our students, their families, and for our school. Come by and join us on Fridays! Wednesday Elementary Volunteers: You are invited to come volunteer every Wednesday morning and enjoy a time of fun and fellowship with other parent volunteers while helping SCS teachers from K-12 with various projects. There are volunteers typically from 8 am to about 11 am, and sometimes longer, depending on the work to be done that day. You can come as often and for as long as you wish. There are no set time commitments so it is easy to work within your schedule! Lunchroom Volunteers: You can come and distribute lunches once, twice or as many times a month as you are available. Duties include set-up, serving lunches, milk/water, in both the Elementary and Upper School lunch room. We also serve ice cream once a week in elementary. It is a fun way to get to visit with your student and to get to know their friends. Elementary Ambassadors: Class Ambassadors are dedicated to ministering to class families through prayer and offering of assistance in times of need. They also sponsor back-to-school parties and our annual Grandparent’s Day in the Elementary School. Staff Appreciation Committee: Sends notes and cards to teachers and staff; recognizes each academic department/grade throughout the year. Hospitality Committee: Prepares and serves meals to teachers and staff several times each year, as well as participates in each of the SCS open house events. Elementary Room Moms: Assists the elementary teachers with organizing volunteers for class parties & field trips. PTF Meetings & Events: PTF holds monthly meetings that are open for everyone to attend. You are invited to come and enjoy fellowship with other parents and get up to date on all current PTF activities. Meetings take place on the first Thursday of every month at 1:30 pm in the Elementary building. PTF also will host some fun fellowship events throughout the year. These meetings and event dates and times will be communicated prior to the event. PTF Fund-Raising Opportunities

SCRIP Gift Cards: This is one of the easiest and most profitable ways to contribute to SCS. When you purchase a SCRIP Gift Card through SCS, our school is given a percentage (2-13%) of that sale back from the vendor and 1/2 of the profit is deducted from your tuition. There are thousands of vendor cards available! Order forms are available on the school website, in the offices, and are also sent out via email each week. Box Tops and Labels for Education: Another easy way to contribute! Cut Box Tops and Labels from participating products and turn them in to your teacher. The School gets 10 Cents for each label submitted! These add up fast! There are class competitions held throughout the year and prizes awarded to those who bring in the most. Merchant Rewards: SCS receives funds based on your purchases at various stores you use everyday! These include Target, Food Lion, Bi-Lo, Amazon and Lands End. Make sure your shopper number is linked to Statesville Christian School! PTF Sponsored Lunches: The first and third Friday of each month, PTF sponsors the school hot lunch program, usually a pizza day. A portion of the proceeds from the lunches sold go to PTF. You can support this fundraiser by volunteering to work the lunchroom on one of these days and also by purchasing the lunch for your child. Elementary Uniform Resale: We provide a uniform resale “store” in the elementary school, room #128. You are able to purchase clothes for $2 per item during school hours. You can donate your gently used uniform items at anytime. Family Night Out: Our Family Night Out events take place several times throughout the school year. These FNO’s are fun for the kids, as well as a fellowship opportunity for the SCS community. Dates and locations will be announced prior to each FNO. A portion of sales will go directly to SCS PTF!

PRAYER FOR DEEPER EXPERIENCE OF THE GOSPEL

Paul’s prayer is for believers to have the "eyes of their hearts enlightened" so they can fully grasp their spiritual inheritance and the hope to which they are called.

His goal was for all to fully experience the grace and fullness of life in Christ. As Hudson Taylor said, “Oh, the joy of Jesus living in me”!

May our love continue to grow—rooted in God's truth, guided by wisdom, and overflowing with the fruit of righteousness.
As we navigate each day, may we seek discernment, pursue what is best, and live in a way that brings glory and praise to God.

“And this is my prayer: that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight, so that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless for the day of Christ, filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ—to the glory and praise of God.”

For our "Summer Theme" we are going to focus on Prayers in the Bible. We might not be able to cover all 650, but we look forward to working through the top ten.

We will continue to gather throughout the summer. Tomorrow (Friday 5/29) we will meet at 8:30 am at the SCS Pavillion/Picnic area near the soccer field.

Our first prayer comes from Ephesians. I once heard it called "A Prayer for My Children" and clearly remember Mrs. Raub using it at our end of 4th grade party as one of her favorites too.

PRAYER FOR SPIRITUAL STRENGTH:

For this reason I kneel before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth derives its name. I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith.

And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.

As another wonderful school year comes to a close, we want to thank all of our students, families, teachers, and staff for a year filled with growth, learning, and God’s faithfulness. We pray everyone has a safe, restful, and blessed summer break!

Tonight, we also celebrate our graduates as they take the next step in their journey. We are so proud of all they have accomplished and pray God’s continued guidance over their future.

Congratulations to the Class of 2026!

This week’s Theme:
Increase and Abound in Love for One Another


“And may the Lord make you increase and abound in love for one another and for all, as we do for you, so that He may establish your hearts blameless in holiness before our God and Father at the coming of our Lord Jesus with all His saints.” — 1 Thessalonians 3:12–13

As we close out this year’s theme, Love One Another, we are reminded that this command encompasses all the “one another” commands. When we pray, serve, encourage, forgive, honor, comfort and all the rest, we share God’s love in meaningful and purposeful ways. Our prayer is that the Lord would continue to increase and abound His love within us — not only for one another, but for all people.

Theme: Lift Up One Another, Mother’s Day Reflection
“Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.”

Today marks one of the most beautiful traditions our school holds… Mother’s Day Chapel. It is filled with heartfelt words, silly quips, laughter, tears, and everything in between.

To be honest, as lovely as Mother’s Day Chapel is, there are also moments when, as we listen, it becomes easy to wonder: Have I done enough? It is so easy to fall into the comparison trap, but that is not what God wants for us as mothers. He simply wants our hearts, our prayers, and for us to lift up one another.

This time of year, we all can relate to Susanna Wesley — with her apron becoming a makeshift prayer room. Yet her prayers were powerful and effective because her son once said: “I learned more about Christianity from my mother than from all the theologians in England.” — John Wesley

So this weekend, take time to honor the moms in your life then bring them before our Lord in prayer. Or perhaps play this song, which beautifully echoes the same sentiment:

2026 Prayer

Almighty God, King of Glory, we confess our sins and repent of our pride that sought our own glory and comfort, allowing evil to take root instead of Your fruit in our hearts, homes, culture, and country. Please forgive us.

Now, with this declaration of rededication, we humble ourselves, pray, and seek Your face, turning from our wicked ways, that You would heal our lives and our land. Please purify and renew our hearts with holy attributes, affections, attitudes, and actions-to love You with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength. We give You glory as we repent and rededicate our lives and our nation to You.

For 250 years You have guarded and guided America in wisdom, grace, mercy, and love. Theme: Accept One Another

May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you a spirit of unity among yourselves as you follow Christ Jesus, so that with one heart and mouth you may glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. Accept one another, then, just as Christ accepted you, in order to bring praise to God. Romans 15:5-7

This verse provides a great model for what shapes a team or influences genuine camaraderie. Paul’s prayer leads us to use the Word of God as a source of patience and to encourage others with spiritual unity. God provides the strength to endure difficult practices or assignments and the encouragement to lift up teammates or friends. We are all one in Christ Jesus – therefore we are called to warmly embrace and accept each other.

What a blessing to see this in action with students and our sports teams. Special thanks to Connie Todd, who captured a moment at a recent baseball game that exemplifies Christ-like character. There is such an impactful witness when players from opposing teams are seen praying together, choosing to accept, welcome and support one another. Their humble act of unity in Christ, reflects hearts set on glorifying God.
