Thank you to the Bulloch County Board of Commissioners for officially recognizing October as Domestic Violence Awareness Month and presenting Safe Haven with a proclamation. We appreciate your support of survivors and their families and your commitment to raising awareness about domestic violence here in our community. 💜

During the presentation, we acknowledged the 131 Georgians who lost their lives as a result of domestic violence. Behind every number is a person, a family, and a community forever changed.
Here in Bulloch County, we honored the memories of Emily Grace Mayo and Maneia Stephens and extended our heartfelt condolences to their family, friends, and everyone affected by their loss.

This proclamation is a meaningful reminder of our shared responsibility to stand with survivors, remember those we have lost, and work toward a community where everyone can live free from violence.

💜 Support starts with listening.

You don’t have to have all the answers to be there for someone experiencing domestic violence. Sometimes, it begins with a few simple words:

“I believe you.”
“You don’t deserve this.”
“How can I support you?”

Listen without judgment, believe their experience, and offer support without pressure. Let them share at their own pace and make their own decisions.

Whether you need support for yourself or have questions about helping someone you care about, Safe Haven is here.
