Rest in Peace K9 Chief, you will be missed.

Please keep Chiefs handler and family in your thoughts and prayers. This is a difficult loss. Bills passion for K9 reaches beyond being a handler, as he has helped our foundation a tremendous amount.

“In Memory of K-9 Chief 🐾

It is with great sadness that the Glynn County Police Department announces the passing of K-9 Chief, a loyal partner, dedicated protector, and valued member of our law enforcement family.

This past week, K9 Chief was a little sluggish, but was happy and excited to be a Special Guest on Saturday at the Evening for the K9's hosted by the Georgia Police K-9 Foundation. Chief was his usual self, spreading smiles on the faces of children and shmoozing with the ladies. He reserved his hugs for the special one's.

On Sunday night, Chief became weak and was not acting like his usual self. He was taken Monday to Southeast Georgia Veterinary Clinic. After a few hours, Chief was transferred to Robinson 24 Hour Veterinary Hospital in Fernandina Beach, Fl. Where he remained until Wednesday afternoon. Chief was then rushed to University of Florida Veterinary Hospital where he received the best medical care possible. Chief passed away early this morning from a sudden and tragic illness caused by Intraventricular Hemorrhage (brain bleed).

Thank you to all the doctors, nurses and specialists who took care of Chief. An especially gracious thank you to the Georgia Police K9 Foundation for offering their services which gave Chief the best care possible. K-9 Chief will be remembered at the upcoming 2027 Evening for the K9's being held in Glynn County June 5th 2027.

“Today at 9:00 AM, we said goodbye to my best friend, protector, and partner of 10 years.

K9 Kayos was more than a K9-he was family. His loyalty, courage, and companionship will never be forgotten.

Thank you to all our family, friends, and followers who supported us throughout his journey.
Run free, Kayos. Your watch has ended, but your legacy lives on forever.”
