Delta Sigma Theta Sorority was founded on January 13, 1913 by twenty-two collegiate women at Howard University.

Delta Sigma Theta (ΔΣΘ) is a non-profit Greek-lettered sorority of college-educated women who perform public service and place emphasis on the African American
community. These students wanted to use their collective strength to promote academic excellence and to provide assistance to persons in need. The first public act performed by the Delta Founders involved their participation in the Women's Suffrage March in Washington D.C., March 1913. The major programs of the sorority are based upon the organization’s Five Point
Programmatic Thrust:
Economic Development
Education Development
International Awareness and Involvement
Physical and Mental Health
Political Awareness and Involvement

We are committed to breaking the silence, spreading awareness, and reminding all affected that they are never alone. We will persist in speaking out and advocating for a world where everyone feels safe, valued, and loved. Every voice Matters. Every Life Counts.

Today is Domestic Violence Awareness Month Day of Giving! Consider donating to a local organization serving domestic violence survivors, and stay informed about legislation related to domestic violence awareness resources and funding.

Every heartbeat matters, and knowing what to do in a cardiac emergency can make a lifesaving difference!

In recognition of World Restart a Heart Day and National Cardiac Arrest Awareness Month, the Jonesboro Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., partnered with The Adjusted Crown to empower our youth with lifesaving knowledge.

Through an engaging, hands-on CPR/AED education class, community youth learned the basics of Hands-Only CPR, how to recognize a cardiac emergency, the importance of calling 911, and how an AED can help save lives.

Each participant gained valuable knowledge and received a Certificate of Participation.

❤️ 3E’s Summit 2026 was a SUCCESS! ❤️

With 33 attendees in the room, we shared knowledge, empowered lives, and planted seeds for a stronger financial future! From home equity, savings, credit scores, and budgeting to building wealth, emergency funds, and final expense planning, our speakers delivered valuable tools to help our community prepare, prosper, and protect their future.

A heartfelt THANK YOU to our amazing speakers, attendees, and everyone who helped make this event impactful!

❤️ Every step and every voice matters! 🗳️

For Childhood Cancer Month, the Jonesboro Alumnae Chapter walked for St. Jude and helped make sure our community was ready to vote! Together, we raised over $1,000 to support St. Jude’s children and families, while our Social Action Committee helped participants check their voter registration status.

Thank you to everyone who donated, walked, and connected with us. From supporting families to encouraging civic participation, we’re showing up for our community! ❤️

October 11th is recognized as International Day of the Girl Child, a time to raise awareness, amplify girls’ voices, and advocate for a world where every girl can thrive.

The Jonesboro Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated, stands in support of this year’s message: “End Child Marriage and Invest in Girls’ Rights.”

When we invest in girls, we invest in stronger families, empowered communities, and a brighter tomorrow. Let’s work together to protect their rights, expand their opportunities, and ensure every girl has the chance to reach her full potential.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and together, we stand stronger. 💗

Preparedness is power—and preparation starts in our community!

In recognition of National Preparedness Month, the Jonesboro Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated was proud to assemble and distribute starter Emergency Response Team (ERT) Kits to the Adjusted Crown Mentoring Group of Jonesboro, Arkansas

Each kit contained items such as light stick(s), snacks, reference materials to personalize each kit and water. These kits are more than supplies—they represent readiness, responsibility, and our commitment to equipping our youth with the tools and knowledge they need to respond when emergencies happen.

A special thank-you to the Adjusted Crown Mentoring Group under the leadership of Quiandrea Borders for allowing us to partner in this important effort to educate and empower our youth.
