๐Ÿ”ฅWhen a Computer Science student becomes a Graduate Assistant teaching Math at A-State ๐Ÿ”ฅ

Thinh Vu - a first-year student in the Master of Computer Science program at Arkansas State University, from Ho Chi Minh City.

Thinh is currently working on-campus as a Graduate Assistant in the Mathematics Department. His main job is to support students in math courses, especially College Algebra, through tutoring, review sessions, and recitations - helping freshman students understand the lessons and keep up with the course.

Besides his GA role, Thinh also spends time on personal programming projects, especially in computer graphics and game development. Balancing study, work, and personal projects helps Thinh develop both technical skills and creative thinking.

๐Ÿ’ฌ Thinh shares:
โ€œStick to what you do and be patient. Opportunities may not always come immediately, but every step you take gives you more experience and insight.โ€

Working on-campus not only helps Thinh gain experience, but also creates opportunities to connect with professors, staff, and international students. Through this, he learns more about professionalism, organization, and teamwork in the academic environment in the U.S.

The important thing is to become a part of the campus, build connections with professors, instructors, and classmates, and make the most of what A-State offers!โœจ

Cao Minh Khang - an MBA student majoring in Marketing at Arkansas State University - is from Ca Mau, Vietnam.

Unlike many other students, Khang began his journey in the ESL program. Through his continuous effort and determination, he earned the opportunity to work on campus as a Front Desk Worker. From there, Khang gradually gained professional experience and was later trusted with the role of Graduate Assistant for the International Recruitment department.

๐Ÿ“Not only that, this March, Khang will represent Arkansas State University at the AEO Education Fair in Vietnam, alongside other U.S. universities, to meet and share information with students who are interested in pursuing their study abroad journey.

๐Ÿ’ฌKhangโ€™s motivation comes from a simple mindset:
โ€œDonโ€™t worry about what others think. What matters most is knowing what you are doing and where you are going.โ€

The journey from an ESL classroom to representing the university at an international education fair shows that when you are willing to learn, take initiative, and continuously develop yourself, new doors will always open.

Your starting point does not determine your destination.
What truly matters is the person you choose to become.๐Ÿ”ฅ
