The Academy for the Advancement of Medical Education (AAME) is a non-profit organization that aims to unify medical professionals across the country through a free of charge and accessible website known as Physician.Academy (physicianacademy.org). The impetus for the creation of the AAME as an alternative and free resource for medical knowledge came as a result of the burden being placed on physic
ians within their licensure, certification, and recertification process. The lack of access to affordable resources, coupled with the increasing difficulty curve of the certification/recertification process, has made the need for a reliable and affordable medical source a necessity. As a result, the AAME aims to provide these physicians with a free resource hub where they can study all the medical information within their specialization. This is done to remove the expensive limitations that are brought forth from the recertification process. We want to provide a service in order to help doctors, specialists, and medical students across the country hone, nurture, and expand their knowledge and skills within their respective fields. Through Physician.Academy, practitioners from varying fields across the country can register and watch insightful videos made by fellow medical professionals regarding the most recent medical procedures and practices to date. It also serves a community building center, as doctors and other medical practitioners can register to be a content contributor, allowing them to send over their notes or audio/video entries regarding topics specific to their field. Eventually, we wish for Physician.Academy to grow to the point where doctors can utilize the website's resources for their Continued Medical Education (CME), and utilize said resources to assist in finding residency hours within our network of doctors, hospitals, medical institutions, etc.
