Join us on Saturday, July 11, as we bring joy, laughter, and unforgettable memories to the children and families in the Illumination Health + Home community.

We're looking for volunteers to help with games, activities, food stations, set-up, and clean-up throughout the event. Whether you can lend a hand for a few hours or the entire afternoon, your support helps make this special day possible.

This month’s edition of Illuminating Mental Health highlights the importance of self-compassion — learning to treat ourselves with the same patience, care, and understanding we would offer someone we love.

Small moments of kindness toward ourselves can make a meaningful difference in our emotional wellness. Whether it’s allowing yourself to rest, setting healthy boundaries, or simply taking a moment to breathe, healing often begins with compassion.

Carnival for Kids creates a space where families can simply enjoy being together — playing games, sharing treats, listening to music, and making joyful memories that remind every child they are seen, celebrated, and cared for.

Illumination Health + Home staff from across our sites participated in a multi-day CPR/AED and Emergency First Aid Training & Certification program. ❤️

Through hands-on training sessions led by the incredible Vickie Onesti from CPR Training for LIFE, our teams gained the knowledge and confidence needed to recognize and respond to cardiac arrest, choking incidents, and a variety of first aid emergency situations.

Vickie brought an empowering, informative, and engaging approach that made each session both meaningful and memorable. Employees had the opportunity to practice life-saving skills and strengthen their emergency response training in a supportive learning environment.

We are incredibly grateful to everyone who participated and for the continued commitment our staff show in creating safe, compassionate environments for the individuals and families we serve every day.

Illumination Health + Home had the opportunity to participate in the Leading for Impact program led by The Bridgespan Group in partnership with The Samueli Foundation.

Through this experience, our team engaged in intensive workshops focused on strategy, organizational effectiveness, and team leadership. Through this experience, our team strengthened strategic leadership skills, sharpened decision-making, and deepened alignment around our mission. We’re excited to bring these insights back to our work as we continue serving individuals and families experiencing homelessness across Orange County.

We’re grateful for the opportunity to learn alongside other nonprofit leaders and to invest in the growth of our team.
