Grateful to have joined the World Refugee Day event hosted by the Refugee Forum of LA, where Church World Service was proud to participate.

It was wonderful to connect with fellow organizations, strengthen partnerships, and be reminded that supporting refugees is a shared effort built on compassion and collaboration.

🚒❤️ Our youngest Church World Service clients had an unforgettable day at Anaheim Fire Station #5!

They explored a real fire engine, learned about the important work firefighters do, tried on helmets, and even sprayed a real fire hose. It was a day filled with smiles, laughter, and new experiences.

A heartfelt thank you to the incredible firefighters at Anaheim Fire Station #5 for making our children and families feel so welcome. Your kindness and generosity created memories that will last a lifetime.

Today, CWS wrapped up our final Youth Program session, and what a wonderful way to celebrate! Our participants enjoyed a special field trip to Dave & Buster’s, where they spent the day laughing, playing games, and making memories together.

Over the past few weeks, we’ve shared so many meaningful moments-from arts and crafts, games, and discovering new hobbies to celebrating a birthday together. Watching these young people build friendships, gain confidence, and simply enjoy being kids has been a true joy.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who participated and helped make this program so special. We hope the memories, smiles, and connections made along the way stay with these incredible kids long after the program has ended. 💙

Today, our team took a well-deserved break from the daily grind to share a meal and enjoy each other’s company. We laughed, caught up, celebrated one staff member’s recent wedding, and said goodbye to another as they begin a new chapter beyond CWS.

These moments are a reminder that we are more than coworkers, we are a community 💕Through the challenges, successes, and everyday moments in between, we have built friendships and memories that extend far beyond the office.

Our Resettlement Supervisor, Amber Kirk, and Case Manager, Iryna Prytula, attended CWS’s first Economic Security Convening in New York. During the event, they shared innovative approaches and best practices in Economic Security with colleagues across the CWS network.
Amber and Iryna also contributed to the development of program design tools that will help sustain and scale Economic Security programming nationwide.
We’re excited to bring new financial literacy and credit-building loan programs to our clients and look forward to sharing more in the months ahead. Exciting things are on the horizon—stay tuned!

We were honored to host an art therapy event at the CWS office as part of the URSI program. Over the past 1.5 years, we have supported Ukrainian families through tutoring, college preparation, donations, educational activities, and community events.

As the URSI grant program comes to a close, we are grateful for the opportunity to create spaces of support, connection, and healing. The event gave students and parents a chance to relax, reconnect, and experience a moment of calm together. 💙💛
