For 50 years, God has faithfully worked through this ministry, and we can't wait to gather together to celebrate all He has done. Another month has come and gone, and Lizzie is almost 5 months into her time serving in Guatemala! 💛 After finishing language school earlier this month, she officially moved into the children’s home and has already seen God moving in incredible ways.

One moment that deeply impacted her was seeing a framed photo of a little boy’s parents sitting beside his bed after being at the home for more than four years. It was a powerful reminder that every child longs to be loved, chosen, and remembered. Through her time there, Lizzie hopes to continue reminding each child that they are deeply loved by God and never forgotten.

Please continue praying for the children, for a new sibling group adjusting to life at the home, for upcoming mentoring opportunities, and for Lizzie as she navigates homesickness during this season.

This year marks 50 incredible years of God’s faithfulness through this ministry, and we truly cannot wait to celebrate all that He has done! For decades, lives have been changed, friendships have been formed, memories have been made, and generations have experienced the love of Christ through this place. What a gift it is to look back and see His hand in every season.

This celebration is going to be such a special time filled with joy, gratitude, laughter, and so many meaningful reunions, and we would absolutely love for YOU to be part of it. Whether you have served here, prayed for this ministry, or attended on a mission team, this celebration would not be the same without you. Introducing Ryan and Amy Smallwood — our NLAI Staff Retreat Speakers! 🙌

Ryan and Amy Smallwood live in Lubbock, Texas, where Ryan serves as Lead Pastor of Aldersgate Church. Ryan is known for his conversational, relevant, and practical approach to teaching and preaching the Bible. He leads with a passion to help others know God and love Him more.

Amy is a licensed professional counselor who works as a mental health and crisis intervention specialist in public schools while also owning a private practice. She has a heart to empower others to embrace the freedom that comes in Christ.

Ryan and Amy are the parents of two grown boys and a dog named Ruby, and we are so excited to have them joining us for Staff Retreat! 🤍

Since shortly after NLCH was founded in 1976, churches, schools, and organizations have traveled to serve alongside the ministry in a variety of ways — from work projects, to spending time with the children who live at NLCH, to serving in other NLAI ministries like Little Pasos.
