[GROWING INTO THE LIGHT SHE HOPES TO SHARE]
“I was born in Binh Dinh, a region in Central Vietnam known not only for its sunshine and wind but also for its rainy and flood seasons. For me, my homeland is an image of people who always strive to overcome difficulties, and that is what instilled in me resilience and a refusal to give up easily. I grew up in D**g Nai, where I went to school and learned to be independent.
Choosing Biomedical Engineering wasn’t a random decision. My father has epilepsy, and my grandmother passed away from heart disease, so I grew up surrounded by medicine and the silent worries of my family. I understand the feeling of helplessness when your family is ill, and you can’t do anything. I chose this field because I want to understand the human body and diseases, and, if possible, contribute to creating solutions that give people like my family more opportunities…”
