โœ‚๏ธ๐ŸŽ‰ Stafford's Historical Tour Just Got Two New Stops! ๐ŸŽ‰โœ‚๏ธ

As part of June's Arts on Main event, you may have seen our group downtown! We were proud to unveil two new additions to the Stafford Historical Tour with ribbon-cutting ceremonies at Introvigne Funeral Home and Stafford Savings Bank on Furnace Avenue.

The Stafford Historical Tour is a collaborative project between the Rotary Club of Stafford and the Stafford Historical Society designed to highlight the rich history of our community. Each location features an informational sign with a QR code that visitors can scan to learn more about the site's history and significance.

With these additions, the tour now includes five locations throughout town! The next time you're grabbing an ice cream at Ice Cream Depot, take a few extra minutes to explore the trail and visit our signs at:

๐Ÿ“ Hyde Park
๐Ÿ“ Stafford Historical Society Museum
๐Ÿ“ Stafford Police Station
๐Ÿ“ Introvigne Funeral Home
๐Ÿ“ Stafford Savings Bank

We were honored to be joined by members of the Introvigne family , Steven Osowiecki, President of Stafford Savings Bank, and Becky Kraussmann from the Historical Society as we celebrated these new additions.

A special thank you to our partners at the Stafford Historical Society for helping bring Stafford's history to life and making it accessible to residents and visitors alike.

We hope you'll take some time this summer to explore the trail, scan the QR codes, and discover the stories that helped shape our community. ๐Ÿ“–๐Ÿ›๏ธโค๏ธ

๐ŸŽ“ Tonight, we were honored to be invited to the Citizens Scholarship Foundation of Stafford Springs Awards Ceremony for the Class of 2026 to share a few words about Rotary and the many scholarships that have been established through our club over the years. ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’›

These scholarships were created to honor the legacies of dedicated community members and Rotarians who believed in supporting local students as they pursue their dreams beyond high school. We are proud to help continue that tradition and invest in the future of our community. ๐ŸŒฑ

๐Ÿ“š If you'd like to learn more about the scholarships administered through the Rotary Club of Stafford or make a contribution to support future students, you can find additional information on our website:

Congratulations to Stafford's four Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) participants - Megan Introvigne, Marian Pace, Julianna Eaton, and Andrew Irwin! Selected from a strong pool of applicants, these students spent Saturday, May 30th, at Springfield College's East Campus joining other sophomores from across the district (covering much of CT and western MA) for a day of leadership development, team-building activities, and personal growth.

Despite the cold and rainy weather, our students had a wonderful time making new friends, developing leadership skills, and challenging themselves through interactive activities designed to build confidence and communication skills.

RYLA is an annual Rotary program that helps young people discover and strengthen their leadership potential while connecting with peers from throughout the region. The Rotary Club of Stafford is proud to support students in this valuable experience each year.

A special thank you to Rotary District 7890's RYLA Committee for organizing and sponsoring this outstanding program and to our members who are participating members - thank you Karen, Bruce, and Laura! Opportunities like RYLA help prepare the next generation of leaders, and we are grateful for the impact it has on our students and communities.

Planning is beginning for this yearโ€™s Bosco Fowler Memorial 5K and Kids' Fun Run, and weโ€™re looking for community members who would like to help!

The road race honors Bosco Fowler, a longtime community volunteer and dedicated member of the Rotary Club of Stafford. The event brings families together for a fun community tradition while raising funds to support Rotaryโ€™s local charitable work throughout the year.

Our first planning meeting will be Thursday, May 21 at 5:30 PM at the Stafford Public Library.

Weโ€™re looking for help with sponsors, advertising, food planning, and day-of event coordination. You do not need to be a Rotary member to help - anyone who wants to support this great community event is welcome to join us. Hope to see you there!

The Rotary International Epic Day of Service was a great opportunity for the Rotary Club of Stafford to connect with local families and support our community.

This year, we joined Flo's Friendship Kitchen at Stafford's Annual Child Safety Day to share an important message: family mealtimes matter. Our table encouraged families to sit down together, enjoy conversation, and strengthen connections around the dinner table.

We were also proud to help spread the word about Floโ€™s amazing work providing free meals to anyone in the community at the First United Methodist Church in downtown Stafford โ€” no income requirements, everyone is welcome. Meals are served every Wednesday at lunch and Fridays at 4 PM. Next Friday, May 22, dinner will be pizza generously donated by Domino's. If you have any questions about attending or volunteering, reach out to Jill at (860) 684-2468.

Service is about showing up, supporting one another, and helping build a stronger community, and Epic Day of Service was a perfect reminder of that.
